April 13, 2013 - Not knowing what type of paint IKEA used, it would probably be best to use an oil base primer first. There is still the issue of how the table was put together, more than likely the glue they used isn't formulated for exterior use. A tarp would probably afford the best protection. ... I'd be worried about moisture seeping up into the legs, make sure they're covered as well. ... If like most thing these days, a lot of furniture is not real wood but veneer over some other substrate.
