Always keep your cards close to your chest until you're ready to buy. Ask them for an estimated price, this won't cost you anything other than time and exchanged emails and they will most certainly give you some language about "this is our standard price and discount, we can't go any lower", but trust me that they can. Just be reasonable about it. Here's what you do: First decide a reasonable price you would be comfortable paying. Then setup 2 sales meetings: one with SNYK and one with GitHub Security (or any other major player you're thinking of, for us they're the only other one we've considered). They are price competitive so let both know you're interested in their products and who the competitor is. Get estimates from both in hand. Tell SNYK the Github offer, it will probably be lower. If that gets you below your target price, great, sold. If its still a little higher just let them know what you are looking to pay. That's usually when a manager gets called in to approve a further discount. Pretty standard sales operating procedure.
