Okay, I don't fully understand sheets, but I've tried and I need help. I keep buying "soft" sheets, and then when I use them, they're just...sheets.
But! There were some sheets I bought in person before Bed, Bath, & Beyond closed their brick and mortar stores that were just luxurious. I don't think they were jersey sheets, but I guess they might have been cause that's the only type of sheet that comes close. I can't remember anything else about them except they were so soft that I used to just climb into bed randomly to enjoy how soft they were. I'm an insomniac and these made laying in bed unable to sleep a delight. There's a poem by Danusha Lameris called Feeding the Worms (link to another Reddit post with the poem) and in those sheets, I felt like a worm described in that poem except with touch instead of taste. Seriously they just made me so happy to be alive and able to feel that kind of softeness around me. They inspired peace deep in my soul.
Maybe I'm just being cheap and I need to spend more than $60 on sheets to get that kind of softness in a non-jersey sheet, but within that price range I've tried Cosy House, Ugg, polyester, tencel, and random sets with high reviews and praise, and every set is just not what I'm looking for. I'm only avoiding jersey because I am not so heat tolerant these days, but if that's really the only way I'll get that softness, I'll accept it. I just need to know for sure that's the case from you, fine redditor sheet specialists.
If that's not the case though, I would love to know what I should buy for a softness that makes a person forget the human condition for a little while. I'm willing to go up to $100, but higher than that and my husband will probably protest.
Thank you for any help in advance!!
I’m trying to upgrade my bedding and want something super soft and cozy. Any brands or materials you swear by?
Hello! I would love some recs on affordable/soft/durable bedding options. I have sensory issues and we have been buying new sheets every 6 months or so. My husband always manages to pill our cotton sheets on his side from sweating because he sleeps hot, and when we wash them and it gets flipped he’ll do the same to the other side and I can’t deal with the feel. The other issue is that the sheets won’t be soft enough for me and I have to wrap myself in our blankets so I don’t touch the sheets some nights (lol). For reference we have always bought random sheets from TJ Maxx. Recently I bought a Casaluna Rayon from Bamboo duvet cover and absolutely love the feel. I really really want a matching sheet set but I’m worried about the reviews. A lot of them say they don’t last and pill and that’s a huge issue for us. I have also been sweating a lot with this new Casaluna duvet cover but not sure if that’s because of the cover or other factors.
TLDR; Affordable + durable bamboo sheets?! Or super super soft cotton sheets? I’m willing to pay $120 ish max, maybe a bit more. We have a king size bed. Thank you!
My girlfriend is moving in and I want to treat her with some nice sheets for our bed. The sheets I have are fine but I’d like to get some nice ones.
i have very bad eczema, I wash my white sheets every Sunday on cold, delicate and use arm & hammer sensitive and a small scoop of oxiclean white revive. my current sheets are the cotton jersey threshold ones from target and had them for 9 months and they’ve started pilling which for me means donating them and buying new ones because the pilling is ITCHY. what do yall recommend?
Not sure if this is the right place to post this but I can’t think of any other subreddit so...
I am extremely picky about.. well everything, but that includes sheets. I’ve never actually had sheets that I really like. I’ve gotten expensive sheets from bed bath and beyond but they weren’t quite soft enough for me. Cotton sheets are too rough for me. The closest I have found to perfect sheets are some brushed microfiber sheets I got from target a few years back, but they’re not great quality so they’re starting to pill.
Last year, I stayed in an airbnb that had the most perfect sheets. They were BUTTER SOFT. That’s the only way I can describe it. I still daydream about those sheets. I guess they were like a matte microfiber material but they didn’t have a tag on them so I have no idea what brand they were.
If anyone knows of the softest sheets known to man, please let me know.
Usually a super high thread count makes for softer sheets. Maybe you can message the Air BnB owner and ask them? I fell in love with a mattress at an Air BnB and asked the owner about it. Unfortunately they no longer made that kind. Hopefully you’ll have better luck!
I've tried so many and the bets is Bamboo sheets hands down! They're a little more eco friendly and insanely soft. You don't need to worry about thread count or anything, the cheapest bamboo sheets are usually hella soft still. It's like silk but not as annoyingly slippery.
I'm struggling to find sheets that meet my needs:
Sub $70 (willing to go up higher if they have AMAZING reviews and meet all criteria)
Cool and breathable (I'm a sweaty sleeper)
Soft even after the first wash (I'm very touch-sensitive and the last few sheets I bought were too rough)
Low-maintenance
I live in a building with shared laundry facilities. It's time-consuming running up and down from the basement and the cost of using the machines adds up. They also don't have any fancy settings - just temperature. So I'm not looking for something that needs to be washed a special way a bunch of times before it's comfy.
I know this is a lot, but I'm hoping there's something out there like this? I used to have Target Threshold ones that were PERFECT, but they seem to have changed production as the new ones feel way too rough.
I'm sure you've seen this kind of post a billion times but i kinda need help. I'm a human space heater. I mean it. I have to have the AC in my room turned down to 66F and thats sometimes not enough to combat my body heat.
There's the other problem with durability. I toss and turn and wiggle around a lot when getting to sleep. Its just what I do. I have had a few sheet sets that started pilling and pilling drives me absolutely nuts. I also for some reason have toenails of tungsten carbide because despite me keeping them cut as short as possible, they find a way to tear at my sheets every now and then. Wearing socks isn't really an option because i sleep far too hot for that.
I tried these the other day and it felt like sleeping in a burlap sack. I thought percale sheets were what I needed but these were so outrageously uncomfortable. I couldn't sleep at all. I have pretty sensitive skin, and textures are a bit thing for me.
These came with my mattress when i bought it a few years ago and I actually really liked them, but the second set i bought from them pilled immediately. They're also kinda pricey.
There are sheets that i've tried too that were kinda fuzzy and i'm not crazy into that either.
So i guess TDLR i'm looking for sheets that are: -durable (no pilling and tear resistant) -breathable (good for super hot sleepers that get kinda sweaty) -soft (Somewhere between burlap sack and silk. Just soft and smooth. Not fuzzy) -affordable (~50$ price range)
I'm just looking to see if anyone else has suffered my same plight and found a solution. I'd like sheets that i can buy a few sets of without destroying my tiny little wallet. Any information of any kind is helpful. Bous points if any reccomendations can be found on amazon.
I’m looking for super soft sheets for my king size bed. I LOVE Jersey knit sheets but the ones I picked up from target are not as soft as I was expecting them to be. I really want them to be like buttery soft. I found a Calvin Klein jersey knit comforter from Marshall’s years ago and it is the thing that made me fall in love with jersey knit in the first place. So far nothing has come close to matching its softness. I used to get pure beech sheets from Bed bath and beyond before they closed all the stores but they don’t even sell them online now. Any suggestions?
Does anyone have recommendation for the softest coolest sheets? I live in Florida and it’s already starting to get hot. My current sheets are sateen and I love them but I feel like I’m sleeping on a hot plate.
That about sums it up! I love for them to be soft, breathable, and not wrinkle easily. I don't really care about thread count. I've had very expensive sheets and hated them and settled previously on my IKEA Natjjasmin Sheets for the last 5 years and just need to change them do to changing colors of the bedding. I want some bold colored sheets, emerald green, deep teal, deep gold, deep plum, etc. Let me know if you have any recommendations for some long lasting, comfortable, stylish, and affordable sheets.
I’m looking for extremely soft bed sheets but I don’t like the silky feel or crisp feel either. I know this is a tough ask but any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Even after reading about it, i have little idea of how each material would feel. I have always used the cheapest stuff available. Needs to be machine-washable. I want something soft. I don't mind a break in period. Budget is 100-250usd, if it's durable.
It seems like no one has asked this one before. Budget not an issue. Really looking for the most soft possible (Egyptian cotton) Must be 20' in terms of pocket.
Any help would be amazing!!
Edit: refining pocket size
Just got a new bed and wanting to get super soft silky sheets to go with it....can anyone recommend any specific brands? I've been sleeping on $15 Walmart sheets for years, it doesn't have to be anything super expensive/fancy.
Okay. So I got a Kohl's card a few years ago, and they have a pretty generous discount on your first purchase with their card. I bought a comforter and these Chaps sheets. I cannot remember the TC, but they are Pima Cotton sateen weave. Please tell me, do sheets really get softer over time? Like a lot softer? Are these Chaps sheet just magical? They finally ripped after a few years, but they literally feel like silk almost. That smooth. I always knew they were, but now I am REALLY noticing it trying to find comparable replacements. Seriously though my life is becoming consumed by trying to find more that feel like this. I can't find the Chaps ones anywhere. Their website is just awful, and none of their partners they point you to have the sheet set I need. Did this company just somehow make a magical sheet? Because I can't find anything even close. And I have tried. I tried some out off Amazon. Someone told me bamboo maybe? I dropped what I thought was quite a bit on Vera Wang Egyptian cottons sheets. Nope. Not even close. I doubled down and went to Bed Bath and Beyond and bought the most expensive sheets, 1000 TC Wamsutta Pimacott or whatever. The sample they have hanging there felt the closest I've found so far, but after washing they feel like a burlap bag in comparison to the other ones. Am I overthinking it? Do nice sheets like this actually all turn as soft as the Chaps sheets? Here is the most important question—what are the softest sheets? I am a hot sleeper that likes that silky feel. I always thought a sateen weaved cotton was the best option. I'm about to just go straight silk sheets but they're so much and too hard to wash! I can't go back after sleeping on sheets like these I just can't. Help?
Hi there! I’m currently moving and I’m wanting to invest in softer, well-made bedsheets. I’m not exactly a hot sleeper, but I do run a bit warm a night. Does anyone have any recommendations for the softest bedsheets that remain soft after several washes?
I’ve heard and seen of The Company Store and Quince but I can’t decide! Any recommendations/reviews are appreciated! :)
