As someone who probably has every accessory besides the new deflector...I'd say each one has a use case but it depends on how you're using it. The lid is awesome if you want to use it as a table when you're not using it. The stand is great if you're on grass and don't want to kill it or if you're on a wood deck. The spark shield is great if your wood tends to "pop"...I have multiple holes in my patio chair cushions from NOT using it. The cover is great if you are somewhere that gets rain or snow Even the pokers and skewers are super well built, I used to buy cheap ones but ended up replacing them sort of frequently, these things will hold up forever. March 23, 2022 -

Just ordered my first solo stove, the bonfire. What accessories would you all recommend as must haves. I’m in line to get the lid, and am on the fence about the shelter.

I live in an area with frequent winds and a dry climate. For these reasons I bought the screen lid and also the solid metal lid. When we are done hanging out by the bonfire I make sure the screen is over the top when no one is around and I always put the solid metal lid on before I go to bed. It gives me peace of mind that I don’t have to worry about sparks or ash flying out and risking a fire. I also have the ring that goes underneath because I burn mine on a wooden deck outback. The ring works awesome by the way. The decking does not even get warm below. Highly recommend it if you plan on burning over anything you don’t want getting hot. A lot of people just use brick or stone and that seems to be fine too but the ring looks nicer and won’t scratch up my deck. I also have a few other accessories and even the stupid heat deflector that should be delivered in the next couple of days. Overall I find the accessories to be outrageously expensive but I don’t want to go to DIY route and the build quality of their stuff is great so I expect it to last for a very long time.

r/SoloStove on Reddit: Solo stove with accessories review for needs / uses
November 27, 2023 -

So I got my solo stove and wanted to share how I view what is needed vs not to help save money or give a different view

Yukon 2.0

  • large size so fits logs up to 18 inches in it so no need to cut any down to size

  • removable ash catcher to make clean up a lot easier

  • I picked the colored outside look to avoid possibly burn looking marks on stainless Steel

Heat Deflector

  • to me this is a must if you plan on having family or friends around it to distribute the heat

Shield

  • this is supposed to help avoid any embers popping out and hitting anything you dont want it to hit.

  • it works as it should be here is why I don’t even use it now:

  1. if you use it with the heat deflector it comes with a top part so it’s fully closed (the shield) to protect form embers. It makes it almost impossible to add logs to the first without taking off the heat deflector so you can remove the “lid” of the shield that is on to give you 100% coverage

  • if I could do it again I would not have purchased the shield since I’m not worried about embers and haven’t had any real ember problems.

The lid

  • if you don’t plan on buying the heat deflector or shield the lid is great since you put it on and no need to cover your solo stove

  • If you have the heat deflector then you have to remove the heat deflector to use lid then store the heat deflector

Cover - the cover is great if you don’t have the heat deflector. If you do have the heat deflector you don’t need the lid or cover - just go on Amazon and search for a round fire pit cover and you will find some that fit with the heat deflector on

Pellet adapter - works as it should but I find myself never doing pellets and only doing wood. This is total personal preference so that’s your call on what you use for burning

Torches - these are like tiki torches but way better constructed, look like mini solo stoves but use tiki fluid style to fuel not pellets - 100% suggest these to finish off the look.

Thought I would share to help everyone else. Cheers

November 22, 2023 - There are two key Solo Stove accessories you should consider. The first is a rain cover, which they call Shelters. The second accessory is the Solo Stove Stand, which elevates the fire pit so you can use it on heat-sensitive surfaces like a deck.

January 13, 2023 - If you don’t have a dedicated outdoor living space for a fire pit, the Solo Stove makes a lot of sense. You can take it out for a bonfire, and then when you’re done, it can be easily stored. We’d recommend the Stand accessory for it if it doesn’t have a permanent home, because it will keep the surface underneath it cool whenever you use it. Like the Stand that we mentioned above, all of the available accessories for the Solo Stove are what make it a game changer.

October 1, 2024 - It won't take someone sitting on it (why would you sit on it) but it'll certainly stand up to any accidental knocks or kicks, and it'll do its job keeping limbs away from the side of the stove. I was very impressed by how well made it is. No. Because the bag is designed to fit pretty snugly around the Solo Stove, there isn't room for the screen to also fit.
