A lot of freemium versions of apps are locked behind signups like this. They want your data so they can try to upsell you later. Free users are a burden that they only see as a possible avenue to upsell. If you have a cloud platform, use their package solution. Otherwise, look at open source solutions like harbor, pypiserver, artifact-keeper or some other language specific one. More on reddit.com

Hey folks, I'm trying to evaluate the "new" Sonatype Nexus Community Edition.
However, the download page at https://www.sonatype.com/products/nexus-community-edition-download requires me to insert all sort of personal details (including the company name, what if I don't have one lol).
Understandably, I could insert random data, but I'm not sure if the download link is then sent to the email address.
That you know of, is there a known direct download link? Sonatype's website must be purposedly indexed like crap because I can't find anything useful there.

So in the past I used nexus personally. I just entered in my info and used dummy company info. I don’t know if their input fields have changed since then, it’s been about 4-5 years. We use CE a little at work but we’re lagging a little behind on updates. We’re likely to purchase a license soon. Can’t speak to anything else, if self hosted CE actually includes limitations beyond with methods, internal user count, etc.

We faced a similar issue in November. We reached the limits and for whatever reason it corrupted the H2 database. We restored a backup and migrated to PostgreSQL. Since then no issues.
