Hi, I recently ordered a Sony Cybershot DSC-W570 off amazon that is allegedly used and in great condition. It hasn’t arrived yet, it is set to arrive in about a week.

I’m currently doing some research on settings I should have for it and whatnot, and was wondering if anyone had any recommendations to get the best photos out of it? I’m a super beginner and before this I only had the cheap tiktok shop camera.

Additionally, does anyone have any recommendations on what software to use to edit photos. I don’t have much experience editing so I don’t know if I’m ready to invest in something like photoshop but I’m open to all suggestions.

I’ve also heard that the lenses on Sony Cybershots are prone to getting stuck and it is expensive to fix (i guess more than the camera costs nowadays because i dont see a lot of people trying to get them fixed). Could anyone with experience tell me how they typically get stuck and how to avoid this to make this camera last as long as possible? And, if this has happened to you and there is a way for me to fix it without having to pay to get it repaired, I’d love to know how.

I invested about $260 or so (which I am aware is pretty cheap for a nicer camera, but it is used) because I learned my lesson from my cheap tiktok shop camera and thought it was time to save for a higher quality camera, and I’m a full time college student and don’t want to destroy this accidentally as I don’t really have the income to replace it easily and I want it to last for as long as possible.

Also, thankfully, the camera is coming with the SD card, charger, and battery but they are most likely after market according to the description because most of it has been long discontinued. Because this is an older camera (released in 2011 if I’m not mistaken), does anyone have any recommendations on how to transfer these photos to my phone or computer? I have an iPhone 16 and a 2020 Macbook Air. I’m looking into sd card readers and adapters that will be able to transfer these pictures easily because on both of these devices I only have a USB-C port, but I’ve seen people order these only to find out that the readers/adapters aren’t compatible with whatever memory card/SD card is in the camera.

Finally, I know it will be easy enough to figure out what type of SD card to get for the camera via googling, but as far as affordability goes, does anyone have recommendations on where to buy them? Like should I just be going to walmart or should I be ordering them online or finding a special camera store to get the best price? I am from massachusetts if that helps at all.
