You are standing on a false premise as its not the top of the line nor most reliable. The Maytag 575 is cheaper and has a longer warranty. The SQ TR7 is more expensive and has the longest warranty of any brand. You either need to research more...this is a $1000 choice, so give it its due. More on reddit.com

Our 2 year old maytag is out of warranty and instead of spending several hundred dollars to have a technician come out we are thinking of just buying a speed queen. We have 4 children and do a ton of laundry. I want a machine that doesn't have a lid lock like our old whirlpool.
I believe the TC5 comes with a 5 year in-home labor warranty? Anything I should know before we buy it? It'll be about $1230 out the door after tax and delivery fee.
Update: We've had our Speed Queen for several months and I absolutely love it. It's built SOLID. I do wish it had a few extra settings like water level. Also, if I wash on cold my clothes come out stinky. It could be our crappy water but as long as I was on HOT there are no issues.

People may tell you it's a small tub at 3.2 cuft, but what they don't tell you is it has almost double the weight capacity, and a shorter wash cycle, all plusses when comparing against the competition. It will wash queen-size bedding, no problem. I own a DD7 front load, now past 10 years with no problems.
