Trust me, skip the all-in-one sets. Here's what works: Platform base & headboard: Look for a split king platform base online (Amazon has tons). This is the moneymaker - hides your adjustable base and adds storage! Headboard only (optional): If storage isn't a must, a headboard can still look sharp. Avoid two twin XL beds - looks janky and creates a gap. Measure your space before buying! I hope this helps. More on reddit.com

UPDATE: Absolutely stoked about the customer service at Brooklyn Bedding. It only took me a few minutes to reach someone on the help line. She was very nice and sympathetic to my situation. It turns out the stores carry different products than the web site. That actually explains a few things. So I really should have called when I saw there were only “King” base options on the web site. But for some reason it never even crossed my mind they could be different. I mean, store is local, “factory” is local, so... As nice as the help desk rep was, she didn’t have the ability / authority to help with my issue. But she worked with me on how she or I could escalate the request to a manager that may be able to help. Her attitude was great and even though she set clear expectations that it was a long shot I left the conversation feeling like I understood the issue and at least she really heard me out. I chose to send an email to their ticket system to escalate the situation. I thought that at least the manager would see my story in my words rather than have someone verbally pass it along. After a couple auto responses and escalation notices, I was informed they would give me a full refund! The wife and I had a full weekend in between all this to figure out what we could do if BB was not able to help. And none of those plans were going to be good. So this was a HUGE relief and I’m very grateful for their customer service. I still have not contacted the store to order the right base but that will happen today. 10/10 would recommend based on this experience. More on reddit.com
