So I've had a king size split bed for awhile now. I like the individual control, however, I don't like that the split in the middle really gets in the way of cuddling and activities. Was wondering if anyone has recommendations as to what they use to fill in the gap from time to time aside from just a blanket or pillow
I really wish sleepnumber had a perfect formed foam cutout I guess
I want to link the two sides of the adjustable base and use a bed-bridge under a king mattress pad to make the split king more like a king. Any suggestions on the best bridge/gap filler to get? The angled edges of the two mattresses seem to yield a bigger gap at the top than what I see most bed bridges advertised for.

My wife and I purchased identical split twin XL mattresses because we could not fit a king up the attic stairs (we converted our attic to a master BR). We will not be using them on adjustable frames. We intend to use a 2 inch king latex topper AND a king quilted mattress pad to go under the king fitted sheet we will be using over both mattresses.
My question is: will we still need a gap filler to avoid falling the the space between two mattresses? Or will we be okay with the two pads and the fitted sheet holding everything together? Mattress arrives soon, so depending on the replies, I may order a gap filler to arrive at the same time.
Thanks in advance for your replies!!!!
Hello! I work for GoodMorning.com and just wanted to chime in.
One thing to be aware of is to ensure the mattresses don't move around so when you do place them together, there's less chance of space between them. Do get in touch with the customer care team of the mattresses you're purchasing, but you might consider placing untreated plywood under the mattresses to keep them from sliding around.
We hope this was helpful!
I have adjustable split kings with twin sheets and a king top sheet. The gap never bothers us. When I go to hotels and sleep in kings then I kind of miss resting my toes in the gap. Should be no problem especially with a king flat sheet.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a good Split King Gap Filler Bed Bridge for Beds with Adjustable Bases? Me and my partner each have a Twin XL mattress that makes a Split King and want a Gap Filler that is comfortable to lay on for bed activities, but will also stay in place when one of us is propped up on their mattress with their base and the other one is laying completely flat on their mattress with their base. We wanted one that would stay in this situation so we don’t have to keep tossing it off the bed and bringing it back on when we want it. Does one of these exist?
I've been renting a room for a year now and the bed is really killing me. It's two smaller mattresses in a split king frame. Unfortunately I could only sleep on one side of the bed otherwise I start going into the gap and it's really uncomfortable.
I bought this gap filler thing that helps slightly, but every once in a while I have to move it around because it goes out of place.
On top of that I also built a quilted mattress topper which helps much more, but I can still really only sleep on one side comfortably because I can still feel a gap or a bump in the middle of the bed.
So I was thinking maybe I should also get a 2inch memory foam topper to put underneath the quilted one? Does anyone think that'll help or have any other suggestions? I can't buy a new bed or frame sadly
Edit: solution was to move out of that flat. My back is so much happier for it.
I am in the process of making the jump to a split king myself, so this is untested by me, but have you tried a gap filler (bed bridge) with straps that go around both of the mattresses?

I am having the same problem. There are 2 solutions I am considering.

Maybe both?
We have a split King on the way and we're worried that the gap between the beds will be a trap for remotes and cell phones. Is there a bed sheet or other product on the market that would put some kind of elastic fabric between? Thinking something stretchy that could withstand one bed adjusted while the other is flat. I tried poking around Amazon but couldn't find anything like that.
We have a split king with adjustable base. We also have dogs and a 9yo son, which means our twin xl mattresses get split apart constantly. Every day I have to rescue blankets from “the crack” and push the mattresses together. Does anyone have any good methods to keep the mattresses together? Has anyone tried attach some kind of a bracket to the sides of the base to prevent the mattresses from sliding off, kind of like the wire bracket at the foot of the base?
Edit: I bought these brackets.
Anyone here actually have a split king mattress? If so I am looking to hear about your experience with them? Was the space/gap in between the mattresses ever an issue or annoying? Do you wish you would have a full sized king?
We are worried that maybe it won’t be so enjoyable as it sounds, considering the gap in the middle. And also we feel like it might make it hard for our children and dog to sleep with us from time to time or lay down in the same bed as us and watch movies.
We are also interested in getting the split king bases as well. Right now we are looking into both the Tempurpedic and Sleep Number models.
Any feedback would be great. We don’t want to make any mistakes the first time around, considering the price tag!!!
