What explanations has Spotify given you? When they gave you the estimate, did they take into account the countries where your podcast listeners are located? There's a big difference between what they estimated and what you're actually being paid. They should give you a logical reason for those figures. I host a podcast, and we were so close to hitting all the criteria to join the Spotify Partner Program (particularly the difficult one: 9,500h consumption / 30 days), then my country got removed from the eligible countries... The fact that I divide my time between two countries doesn't help, but still we worked so hard on uploading material (interviews) way more frequently than usual to hit the target and then...nada. Spority Partner Program removed from our monetisation options, simple as that. So bloody frustrating. Starting to wonder if Spotify is the right platform for a podcast...

My favorite thing about Spotify is the habit of not including all the details. Example: YOU CAN PLAY MUSIC IN YOUR PODCAST Reality: after we approve every episode, and not on the website only the app, and only in the app for paying members. They recently stated how video was up for the show the Ringer X% (whatever it was). The Ringer didn't have video on Spotify last year, so ANY number would be an improvement. If you need free (although you often get what you pay for) see Red Circle. Even better sell your own stuff and make MUCH more profit. If I sell a book I make $12. With programmatic ads I would need 2400 downloads. Which is easier, selling 1 book or getting 2400 downloads? There are great hosts like Captivate, Buzzsprout and others that let you create an dynamic insert your own ads for your own products. So there shouldn’t be any link to impressions, ad insertions, or episode length. That’s more relevant to the standard ads program, but not to the Partner Program, as far as I understand.
