[Spotify] Songs automatically skips really fast.
Spotify is skipping all songs for me, problem is related to output device selection.
I haven't had this issue the same way you seem to be having it, so the attempted solutions you describe are new to me. However, I did experience similar behavior once, and it was because I'd left Voicemeeter running in the background, and I guess Spotify thought I was trying to pirate their music. It just skipped song after song very rapidly. So, it's probably not the issue for you, but do you have Voicemeeter or any other audio loopback/virtual patch cable software running?

Spotify skips exactly 5 songs then will only load 10 seconds of a song? (web player)
I'm also having this issue with the web player, with Firefox as my browser. On Android it works fine. Unless I control the web player from the Android app, then it also skips and stops at 9 seconds.
Clearing cookies and restarting the browser did not do the trick.
Did you find a solution?
Edit: well, this has solved itself pretty much on its own, at least on my side. Today Firefox has been updated on my machine (currently v.89.0 64bit), and now the web player works without skipping.

Spotify randomly skips songs, sometimes even in the middle of them or just stops playing completely. This happend both on iOS and Windows.
Anybody else experiencing this issue?
Any tips? Cleared cache and reinstalled on both platforms already!
Much Love, fjm200
Currently experiencing this now, it might be a Spotify wide issue.
EDIT: I resolved this issue (for now) by clearing cache, logging out of my app, & then logging back in.
Yep I’m having the same problem. Trying to listen to an album, and then once a song finishes, it skips two tracks ahead. Really frustrating
Hi. As the title states, I have a problem with spotify. The songs on my playlist keeps skipping so fast that I can't listen to anything. I made a GIF to show you how it looks. I don't know if any of you know about this problem, but my hopes are up.
I've tried uninstalling and installing it again, I've tried with different headsets, and I've tried of course turning my computer on and off again :P
Thanks!
This is not a new issue: when using a playback device other than speakers or a headset, Spotify skips through all songs or refuses to play altogether. The two ways to fix this were to either:
-
change your playback device to be your speakers/headset. This is not a fix.
-
Restart the Windows Service: Windows Audio Endpoint Builder (as described here).
After restarting the Endpoint Builder, I have to restart my audio engine, not a big deal. However, this second solution does not help me as it has helped other people. Tried restarting Spotify too for good measure, no luck.
Has anyone else using a non-Windows audio engine ran into this issue? What did you do?

i had same issue for a while and I just solved the problem right now.
I'm using a Dell USB soundbar for non-music contents and a XMOS USB DAC for music playback.
Open Windows 10 sound settings, at the right column select and open the traditional "sound control panel". In the first tab ("playback"), when I select my DAC and click "configure" and then click "test", it says "test failed" (can't hear the test ding-ding).
Back to first tab("playback"), still select DAC, now click "properties". Go to "Advanced" tab, click "test". Now it's okay! then go back to previous test, now it's okay too!
problem solved.
This is one of the more bizarre problems I've had. Whenever I double click on a song or press a play button Spotify will skip exactly 6 songs and then play 9 or 10 seconds of the 6th before it won't play any more. What the hell is going on and how can I fix it?
I can still get all songs to "play" (10 seconds) by using the skip and back buttons. I've never had a problem with spotify before.
UPDATE: firefox updated and the issue is gone, still no clue what caused it, probably completely out of my control

I don't have an answer for you, but this has happened to me on mobile a few times.
Yesterday i was casting to a google home and it was skipping through songs like it couldn't play them.
It's done it on android auto a few times, too.
