r/spotify on Reddit: Price difference between the USA and the UK.
January 18, 2011 -

Since the US pricing is $9.99 for a premium account and the British pricing is still £9.99 that means that the US is only paying £6.20 for what I assume is the same service?

That hardly seems fair, does it? I've already contacted spotify to see when they are going to lower the UK prices, but as of yet I haven't heard anything.

Any thoughts?

Ps I don't know what the other European prices are, whether they are consistent across the board or not. It was just the high profile US launch that made me think of this.

July 31, 2025 - While Yoti claims that your data will be kept safe, and eventually deleted, the new requirement has caused uproar among some Spotify users. Some have take to forums such as Reddit to point that young people are clever enough to find ways around the checks, for example using a VPN to change their location to somewhere other than the UK – and a minority have even threatened to revert to piracy (see below).

r/cscareerquestionsEU on Reddit: 2 offers, 2 countries: Facebook v. Spotify - UK v. Sweden?
February 3, 2020 -

Hi everyone!

I've received offers from Facebook London (TC 100k£) & Spotify Stockholm(TC 857K SEK). Role at Spotify is much more aligned with personal expectations + had great fit with the team. Facebook is FANG, so can open the door to many opportunities later on, but reputation has gotten downhill over past couple of years.

Any thoughts so as to

• life in Sweden v. London (I don't live in either cities atm)?

• Spotify v. Facebook?

• Potential future opportunities with one or the other?

• Offers: is compensation competitive + can I live well in both locations with this salary?

Thanks!
