(Sorry in advance for the long question.)
So I have a sort of strange, sort of obscure question.
I have a 2007 Squier Stratocaster with a CXS prefixed serial number, and I’m trying to find the measurements of the tuning peg holes. I mainly need the distance between the holes. I say this is an obscure question because apparently the CXS Chinese crafted Squiers are a little rarer than the normal Squier, and I’m not sure if the measurements would be the same on mine as they are on a normal Squier Stratocaster.
I need the measurements so that I can replace the tuners with Fender Vintage style tuners, or if those won’t fit, go with a different type. If anyone has any info or any type of help it would be greatly appreciated.
Yeah, I had trouble with one, if I remember correctly, they were 8mm but they the spread was wider than what would work with vintage, they’re too far apart and on mine, the low e was too close to the edge of the headstock (less than an inch) I ended up just getting a new set of the crappy hex tuners.
You could invest in a caliper gage
