so the home we recently bought has kitchen counters made by wilsonart, gibraltar model. i'm not entirely sure if this is a solid-surface veneer or if it is thicker. not sure what sort of substrate this has either. the backsplash is molded with the counter.
the sink is a molded thing that the counter seamlessly connects with.
we want to change this nasty thing to a stainless steel undermount sink. does anyone know if this is possible with these counters?
I use razorblade 27 abrasive cutting disks on a 4" grinder . razorblade is a brand that holds up well but there are others very thin metal cutting blades that will do the job in minutes, yes on sparks but I have never started a fire and have cut every kind of metal with this method. I just measured a disk and they are 0.075" thick.
Use a sterling sink, and drop over the existing hole. Cut out the stainless sink about a 1/4" from the tile. But first
go to Home Depot and order your sterling sink so it will cover the hole, before you make the hole. Wifes sister did their sink and loved it. We did remove our under the counter sink in our bathroom and put in the sterling we ordered in advance from Home Depot. We love it!
Currently I have a 32x18 undermount stainless steel kitchen sink. The problem I am having is that the sink has hard corners; which are hard to clean and get moldy. So I want to get a new >R10 sink, and I'm gonna take the insinkerator from my old sink and swap it in.
Sadly, since it's a 32x18 undermount sink, my options for >R10 sinks are limited. Workstation sinks are generally 32x19, and won't fit my cutout. Since my options are so limited, I've basically only found 3 viable options:
Karran SU75-PK1 ($220)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B75MF9VK/
Sold out everywhere at the moment. But a reputable company.
Waterlace ($200)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D7Q2CX8V/
Chinese drop-shipper? Reviews are good, but could be bots.
Blanco Cuvee 524754 ($800)
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BTJ6YGNZ/
Four times the price! Why? Is the price worth it?
