at my store, at least, we O N L Y sell demo laptops when the demo goes clearance. there is no lowering the price (maybe 10-15$ if it's missing an accessory, has a little scratching from the removal of a security of the device), and that's it. all box stock MUST BE sold before we sell the demo. if the demo isn't in near perfect condition, we don't sell it. we aren't going to discount it more to sell it to you, at least at my store. 🤷♀️ we are just gonna send it back idk wth the employee is talking about, but i don't think you're describing it well either? sounds like a communication issue, idk. gl. You're on your own for wiping them but if you're looking for a lazy way to dump a computer, Staples takes them. I dropped off two 15+ year old towers I'd had sitting around last month. Personally not that worried someone will find anything exciting on the hard drives so I just took them out and whacked them with a a few times with big hammer.
