Is my view on printer brands correct?
Before leaving I basically stopped having people buy HPs aside from the 8600 family. Once they ditched photo printers it was over for me with thier inkjets.
Basically I asked them what they used it for. If they said pictures and I qualified them for a photo printer I went to Epson and Canon. If they wanted high volume for cheap showed them 8600 series or whatever the big boy Epson is that takes the 273 ink.
Things I never seemed to move. Canon lasers. Aside from the odd big sale they were never moved close to as often as Brother or HP. HP's printer only Officejet. I sold the display model. People don't grasp why pay for a printer only when they can get an AIO, I agree. The double tray heavy duty Epson. I sold 8630s, but people didn't bit on the Epson. I moved it's slightly smaller brother like crazy though.
I think in general you're right. I'd say Brother inkjets are solid. I think they get a bad rap because Brother uses cheap ink. But the actual printers are decent.
I never really sweated the Brands specifically. I asked what they used the Printer for, and then gave them 2 or 3 options. When I started I got overly bogged down, by the time I was finished I considered a Printer Sale lasting longer than 15 minutes to be a huge failure.
