If you can pay your balance in full within 60 days, you donโt need to request an IPA. Instead, request a one-time extension to pay your balance. Have your taxpayer ID and bill or assessment number available.

Before applying for the payment plan itself youโll need to submit Form 2848, Power of Attorney and Declaration of Representative, either electronically or by mail.
