Hi all, I'm in my early 20s and I cook for just my partner and I. We're both guys so we both eat a lot - typically the dutch oven size I use the most is 5.5qt.

That being said, I've been eyeing Staub (particularly the Basil or Grenadine colors) for a while now and noticed that WS has the 4qt on sale for $150 and with the tariffs and everything I'm hoping to grab it while they're still (mostly) paused.

In your experience, have you regretted buying a 4qt because it's too small? The alternative is waiting and saving up for a 7qt but that seems like it's probably way too big (though I will be moving in with family soon so maybe a bigger one might be better). I have a Tramontina stainless steel 5qt dutch oven that I use all the time, and a 4qt stainless cuisinart saucepan which *seems* like it might be too small, but I dunno.

I also know about the 5.5qt ones they offer, but honestly vastly prefer the look and vibe of the Cocottes (also the bigger ones are rarely on sale).

FYI … It’s on sale for early Black Friday at sur la table ($129.96) too. Majolica finishes are $20 more. I know wm Sonoma has them, but I have a gift certificate at SLT, so I was pleased to see it there as well. It’s not marked as VI. I gave several of these as gifts and kept one for myself when it was the $99 loss leader maybe four or five years ago and I can say without hesitation, it’s a very handy pot. It basically lives on my stovetop.
