Or are all the horror stories about cleaning true? Talk me out of it please.
Is there a lid for this grill pan available for purchase?-4249827
I know grill pans are frowned upon here, but is there ANY good reason to have a Staub Enameled Grill pan that I can get for $25?
How is everyone living their grill pan?
I see posts like this all the time, but honestly my Staub grill pan is used regularly, at least once a week or more, and we have no issues with cleaning. Here are my tips: heat is important, low and slow to get heat in pan before putting the spurs to it! I place in oven cold and let it preheat with oven. Once hot i brush lightly with avocado oil and ket it heat a bit , then place food for grilling. Flip once the sear is set and no sticking. For cleaning up, just dawn soap and a blue scrubbie. If it needs more, it can soak in warm dishwater. Always comes clean easily for me. We grill fish, pork, chicken and veggies all the time. Much better than our old raw cast grill- which we could not soak!

One is enameled and one is not. Honestly for a grill pan I’d rather have raw cast iron, cause enameled isn’t really meant for high heat and searing. Lodge is great quality. Personally I think a staub is worth it for a Dutch oven, because you want enameled, but any pans are not worth the money imo.
Also, I know people like grill pans, but I don’t really see the point in them. You don’t get grill flavor, just grill marks. You also loose the benefit of a hard sear/crust that you would with just a flat cast iron skillet
