Players should first contact the game developer if they wish to appeal a game ban, since the developer has the data describing why the ban occurred. If a player feels the game developer is being unreasonable, he/she should contact Steam Support. If Valve determines a game developer is abusing the ability to apply game bans, Valve can remove the ability for that developer to apply bans in the future.
So how to directly chat/email Steam Support Team? Navigating the support only a compiled helpers are there.
Like the header says, every time I try to recover my account, whether it's sending a recovery email or sending a code to a new email address to link it, I get the email and it doesn't have anything in it. The only thing I can do is click the "take to website" option which just takes me to the homepage without any changes to my login.
I've also tried the "text to phone #" option, and no text ever comes up. I'd try to use steam support, but guess what? I need to LOG IN to get help with logging in.
All of which is to say if they had a god damned live support option I'd have better luck. Anyone encounter this issue before? What was the work around? FYI, yahoo is the email account, and I have an android phone. Computer is Windows 11 based and using Chrome browser.
Hey, does anyone know how I can contact the Steam-Support? I did everythng and I always came back to this: https://help.steampowered.com/de/. There is no option to write a ticket. I just want to contact them but there is no option to. Can someone help me, please?
How do I contact steam help if I can't sign in?
Merry Christmas! My son just got a computer and is trying to sign into his steam account that was made a few years ago. He thinks he remembers the name and p-word but it keeps sending a code to an email and phone that we no longer have access to . His brother did it and doesn't remember the email at all. The phone has been gone for years. How can we change the email and phone number of I can't sign in?Every option for help leads me to sign in. I don't want to have to but these games all over again. Thank you so much!
Has anybody had luck reaching out to Steam customer service via Twitter/X or something similar? I've been trying so hard to leave in depth details in the notes section, but it seems as if it isn't read at all. No email to contact them, no number. The help I need is minimal but I suppose more complex than the automated online system can handle. Anybody have luck contacting Steam from something other than the steam help area?
Edit: Ok, so probably its a real email from the real Steam support, but (I didn't know its possible, but looks like it is) it's from another account with the same email and similar username as my main account. I'm not entirely sure its mine, and if it is I'm certain I didn't logged in in years, so I have no idea how I can recover it.
Anyway, thanks for the help, and thanks for u/uniQArtworks [+1] to pointing thing out.

So this is weird. When I just woke up and saw that I have 3 email from "[email protected]". The first say someone added a phone number to my account (I already have phone number on my account), then 5 mins later that someone changed the password and email address.
So the first thing I check is the email adress. Sometimes I get fake steam emails from other email addresses, but not this time, it's the legit email address.
At this point, I start to panic a little because this email belongs to my main account with almost 700 games. But the same time I'm confused because I have mobile authenticator on that account and also sms authenticator on my Gmail, so no way someone even if found out my PW could log in everywhere and change stuff. So at this point I'm super cofused and just try to log in. And I can. And nothing changed, not the phone number, the name, the pw or the email.
At this point I go back and check 5 more times the mail that if its fake or not but its still the real seteam support eamil adress. So now I'm totally lost.
The weired thing is that the email greets me with "Sotyka". And I changed that name to "Sotyka94" years ago. The last time I got email from the official Steam adress with "Sotyka" in the title was in 2016.
TLDR: The real Steam support email just sent out emails that my account has been stolen, when it's not.
Note that it is trivial for someone to send an email that looks like it is 'from' someone. I can send you an email that looks like its from gabe, bill gates, steve jobs etc. Unless you look into the real nitty gritty details of the headers you can't use the 'from' field to authenticate
I just had a quick look at it turns out that both accounts exists (Sotyka and Sotyka94).
Only the latter has 2FA, the first one uses a gmail address.
All account security related emails will contain your account name (image from the wiki page), which is not your public username. You can also not change this account name. This means you probably created a new account at some point and forgot about the old one.
Also note that neither the sender's name nor the address within an email is reliable evidence that it came from this person. It can easily be faked and is essentially like writing White House and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as sender on a letter.
I'm trying to recover my account as I think my account got hacked. When trying to change passwords, I saw that my account was under a different email than usual and I'm trying to recover my account.
The Steam Support isn't really helpful and is actually rather bland in helping me. I need to submit a support ticket but there's no obvious button for that.
I’ve been hacked and lost my account, and when i try to get my account back it asks for my email and phone number while both got changed, now I’m trying to get into contact with steam to report this incident but they’re not helping because you can’t come into contact with them and they just send you in circles and before anyone tells me to go on steamsupport I’ve tried several times but how am i able to get my account if i don’t have the pasword or the email because they’ve literally have changed all of it. I’ve seen the last letters and last number from both the phone and email adress and none matches my email(s) or phone number(s)…..I’ve got receipt of purchases in my mail and i also got it on my pc client but without the pasword or mail I can’t really do anything if even when you try to recover you pasword or mail they just send u to a stupid page that doesn’t really help….steam pls fix that site and create a form of contact so your users can reach you…..hoe does a big company like that not have a live support system or atleast one where you can send mail and maybe receive your answer after 3 days or something but do something about it
Hi I received this message from steam support. And at first I thought it was a scam message because why would steam send me a message right? But I just logged back onto my account again and this time my profile picture and username have been changed and as the messages say my friend list was deleted and now my only friend is this steam support profile. I tried the !appeal thing and it tells me to log into steam somewhere and when the login tab opened I tried to move it out of the google tab because I remember that was a way scammers got you in the past and the login tab wouldn't move out of the google tab to my second monitor which I think is a red flag. ALSO the link I got after sending the !appeal message is a little sketchy. When I click on the steam logo it doesn't take me back to the steam main page. When I right click and select open in new tab it opens the same exact !appeal tab. I added a picture of the messages I got. Don't mind the stuff I blurred out. I blurred out my profile username and the ticket number. What I messaged back is what you would usually say to a scammer, flip off is an example of what I said.
Its a long situation but I can access my account and need to contact steam support asap
My account got hacked recently (I say that but it has at least been a month) so I have sent multiple emails to steam hoping for a reply. I tried following the steps on their website to recover my account but whoever is in my account has completely changed the email, phone number and password linked to my steam account so I could not reset the password as it required a verification through email. They have not change my username which was how i am able to check that they did change the email as now it has @f******** instead of @g**** (gmail) which is what all my emails are. Not sure if im doing something wrong or am i not supposed to contact steam this way? I saw others whom followed the steps to get a follow up but i cant think of anyway I would be able to get my account back with just my username other then contacting steam. I sent an email like a month ago, another one a week ago and two more today.
So, my steam account was recently hacked, and I've tried going through steam support to recover it. However, I would have to create a steam support account in order to do so, and as of right now, the option to create one doesn't seem to exist. What am I supposed to do from here? Is there anything I can do?
Hello everyone,
I am a fan of a Vietnamese streamer named Mixigaming. Recently he was attacked by a hacker and his YouTube and Steam accounts were stolen. Currently, the youtube account has been supported to retrieve the account, but hackers have hacked the steam account with many valuable assets under the CSGO nick. He tried to send a ticket from the original email to get it back, but the hacker spammed the account recovery to prevent him from sending the ticket. I hope my article will help people reach the Steam support team before all his assets are sold. Thank you for everyone
I keep getting an error when trying to send my friend a game, but was able to purchase a different game for them at a later time with no problems. Is this normal?? Why can't I provide them a link to the profile instead? I don't know my friend's email and I don't understand why I can't just send it to them through my gift inventory to begin with.
Edit: They let me send a link to the profile instead, thank god.
