The marking of "Limiting" on the vents stat simply means that it is not "optimal ratio". You can have fewer down to your desired steam flow rate. Turbine shuts down if internal battery fills with energy. It will restart automatically though you may also vent excess steam to prevent it from shutting down.

[Suggestion] Excess Steam Handling
Currently when the Industrial Turbine can no longer output power for whatever reason it fills up it's energy buffer, and then fills up it's steam buffer. At this point, it stops accepting steam. This interacts poorly with Big Reactors who, if they can't output their steam, start to overheat until flow is restored or you shut the reactor down. At this point, it stops accepting steam. This interacts poorly with Big Reactors who, if they can't output their steam, start to overheat until flow is restored or you shut the reactor down. I suspect this may be a common configuration before people get their Mekanism generator setup since the only other way to deal with the steam that a Big Reactor outputs is the Big Reactor turbine which tops out at 2k/mb, requiring you to build many of them if you want more power.

Make a mekanism fusion reactor with the fastest fluid transfer you can get for input and output (Integrated dynamics is supposed to be able to transfer infinite amounts of fluid, otherwise AA fluid laser relays can supposedly handle billions of mb/t, if the fusion reactor auto outputs put that touching the turbines input) If you want to run it at full bore this is a flowchart I made when I was playing E2E which works at 98 injection rate I forgot to account for it but the end always counts as day so placing the Solar Neutron Activators in the end makes it so they never turn off, also I would highly recommend making a sink instead of 10 water pumps

I agree that the explanation is rather esoteric at times, and even YouTube videos have been rather vague about it. There is an explanation of the official Mekanism wiki and it's pretty much all you need if you want the math of it: https://wiki.aidancbrady.com/wiki/Industrial_Turbine Most notably this: Energy production = FLOWxROTOR_HEIGHTx50RF/7 The basic point is, the size of the turbine really doesn't affect anything except the number of blocks (vents, dispersers, blades, etc) that you can put as part of it. The larger the turbine, the more stuff you can fit as part of the turbine. The main thing that really matters when designing a turbine is how many blades you want to put on it. More blades means less room for vents. Saturating Condensers are useful only if you don't have infinite water or are using a sodium-cooled turbine; otherwise, you can ignore them completely. If cost of the blocks is not an issue, just make a max size reactor you care to make. 17x17x18 is the maximum size. There is no penalty to making a turbine too big. In essence, maximize rotor height (7 blocks tall maximum) and maximize inflow of steam (limited by the output of the fission reactor and the number of turbine vents).

I am trying to get the best industrial turbine possible. I know the max total size is 17x17x18, but I dont know how tall the rotor can be without limiting too much the vent ammount I can fit.
Does anyone know the right size of the turbine to get the maximum flow possible?

I really can't agree with them being most efficient. The most efficient turbine will always be the one with max rotor length, as efficiency is nothing other than the relation of energy produced to steam intake. I believe the minimum viable in that regard is 11x18x11. Can scale up to 17x18x17 if you really need more vent space. But really, are you generating that much steam? Probably not. EDIT: mistype

Anyone have a good working turbine set up for V9 Mekanism? I have been using BigReactors to make the steam, I cant seem to get the boilers to produce enough steam with out a major amount of power consumption.

If you're trying to use the resistive heater, stop trying. They take slightly more power to produce steam than the power you'll get from that steam with a 28 blade turbine. If you want crazy steam production, set up a Mekanism Fusion reactor. If you want tips on how to build the turbine, I found 11x11 was the smallest I could make the base while still fitting 28 blades.

I'm still testing, but the 11 x 11 is a good one. But sad that there are limit on the height of the Turbine. If you put lot of blades, you're limited for Vent and the power drop quickly. More than the steam, i think the balance between blade and vent are more important. Also, the Cryo Cable don't work sometime with the power output of the Turbine. But i love that you can use the Resistive Heater with the Thermal Evaporation Plant. No need to put it in a desert ou something like that.

My Mekanism industrial trubine is filling up with power, when this happens it stops processing steam into water. This means that i no longer get enough water into the reactor to cool it. Does anyone know how to get the turbine to keep processing the water after it gets full with electricity?

you can use flux networks with differing priority to keep the turbine producing power by sending excess to a trash can, could also void the excess steam via the turbine's GUI if you have enough water production.

Maybe try a fluid or ultimate trash can with some way of setting it to a lower priority than your turbine? That way it only voids the steam if the turbine is full. Alternatively, an energy trashcan connected to the turbine in such a way that it only voids energy if your primary energy storage is full, so that the turbine never stops producing.

I decided to use the mekanism method of power creation, and it just feels glorious...but then came an even bigger greed for power, MORE power, so I decided to do a mekanism steam turbine setup
my setup to make deuterium, trinium, and d-t fuel stays steady no matter what, my turbine frame is an 11x11x18, and all needed blocks are in it (turbine rotors, blades, rotational complex, coils, vents, valves, the works); water is inserted into the mekanism reactor (using a fuel injection rate of 2 btw) with a mechanical pipe set to pull from the sink, another pipe to send the steam into the turbine, and a cryo fluxduct to send the power into a tier 8 draconic evo core
now after both the reactor and turbine run for a while, the turbine's rf production stabilizes at 256k per tick, and the reactor can't seem to make more steam to increase production; is my solution to increase the fuel injection rate, get a mekanism boiler for steam making, or whatever else there is
