r/Headsets on Reddit: Corsair Virtuoso or Arctis 7

I've decided after having a wired headset for a while that I really want I wireless one I've narrowed it down to these two. If anyone knows which is better. Please tell me. I've actually already tried the Virtuoso, but I didn't like the SE mic. The only other problem with it was the lack of sidetone. This is VERY important to me.

The Arctis 7 isn't very good.

I have tried the virtuoso but I've not been getting told the most positive things.

Wireless is a bit of a bummer.

The flight is normaly what I reccomend sub 200.

I'm getting the new gsp370 soon I think.

I am uniquely qualified to answer this right now lol. I happen to have in my possession a pair of Arctis 7 and a pair of Virtuoso SE (and the ST1000 stand). I originally bought the Virtuoso SE because EVERYTHING else I own is Corsair and all controlled through iCUE and all that goodness. Since I am a best buy elite member or whatever, I can just return which ever pair I dont want up to 45 days. So I've been doing some extensive testing. And honestly, for as beautiful and well built and "ultra premium" the corsair really is, and it is, it is seriously a well built well designed thing of beauty, it's 7.1 surround was SO lacking. I don't know why. I can't figure it out. It should be fine. But it's not. I don't know if it is the headphones themselves or the fact that the virtual surround is a corsair proprietary thing and you don't have the option of running them on DTS or Dolby unless you get rid of iCue. Not compared to the Arctis 7 with DTS:X. Multiple times with the Arctis I had to take my headphones off because I was scared I accidentally switched the audio output to my desktop speakers and was gonna wake up my wife. I could pick out the spot on my wall that the sound seemed to emanate from. It was just WAY more immersive sound. I still haven't decided.

When it comes to design and build quality, its the Corsair all day. But when it comes to sound, which, I mean, that's what a headset is for I guess, It is the Arctis.

So at this point I'm torn between having a full corsair setup that I can instant light all the same with one click, Or,

I do own the virtuoso: About the mic, i haven’t really tested it out, but I would say it sounds great, i love its implementation in icue and the option to hear yourself. The virtuoso’s sound quality is great, the bass will not punch you, but at a high enough volume you will actually start feeling it. The mids and highs are super pronounced, especialy the mids. Of course with the EQ tuned. It also has the option for wired and trust me, it sounds SO good on wired, even on 3.5mm. The comfort isnt great, after an hour or so near my jaw it started to hurt and the headband will too, but just leave something heavy on top of the earpads for 3-4 days and they will feel much better. The wireless dongle will need a good port, i have tried using an usb port on my k70 and it will say “not enough resources”, also, dont place anything obstructing the dongle as it will constantly disconect, altho the signal distance is very long. About the RGB, turn it off, you will get around 3 complete days without charging if you trun it off, it does get bright tho. Build quality is great, it feels very sturdy and strong, but it is felxible enough. I do wish corsair opted for a different texture, no one likes the glossy finish, altho in the white version its not as bad. Great headset, but if you have the money, i would recomend the SE version. Extra pair of earpads, non glossy finish, better looks, travel bag, and a “better” mic (some reviewers say the mic sounds more natural in the non SE version). 8.5/10, would recomend.

Virtuoso owner here. I'm dissapointed at the battery life , the volume wheel feels cheap and the earcups are small to the point where you need to take them off every now and then. Steelseries headphones are quite good , used to have the arctis 3 which were just OK. I reccomend the corsair HS 70 wireless which served me well ! After 1.5 year the earcup foam fell out

Hi, I'm looking at buying a wireless headset for my first build that i recently completed. I'm between the two headsets in the title and am really torn. I've done a decent amount of research but I would really like the opinions of people that have owned these headsets for a while.

Right now I'm leaning more towards the arctis because I've seen a lot of complaints about the Virtuosos comfort. Is the virtuoso's fit really that bad? Thank you, and any advice is greatly appreciated!

r/HeadphoneAdvice - Steel series arctis 7, Corsair virtuoso, or Astro a40s?
March 1, 2020 -

I've been absolutely pulling my hair out trying to decide between these three headsets. I understand two of them are wireless well one is wired. The arctis 7 seems to have all the features and the wireless capability one could desire but I'm worried about audio fidelity The Corsair boasts higher audio fidelity But doesn't have all the features of the arctis 7. The Astro a40s although wired have all the features and Superior sound quality. at least that's how I've come to understand it. Also the a40 bundle with the mixer pro are currently on sale for $200 on Amazon making them a very attractive option. I've heard lots of concerns regarding wireless headsets as well. Anyways, just looking for people's opinions on which of these guys to pull the trigger on. Thank you.

Hii everyone, headphone noob here 😅 I'm looking for a new pair of headphones for pc and I would really love to go wireless this time because the wire gets in the way when I switch between drawing, gaming, knitting etc. I would also love it to have a mic I can either remove or roll up for discord calls, or phone calls if it's possible to find something that can work for both phone and pc. If possible I would love to have a pair that closes off outside sound cause I share gaming room with bf and he gets loud in tarkov 😅

I am by no means a sound nerd in any way, I just like to hear music and to play computer without problems or any sort of big setup settingswise.

I've been looking at the SteelSeries Artic nova 7 where it's the cross platform availablity and hot swappable battery i really love the sound of. On the other hand I also quite like the design of the Corsair virtuoso and it's a bit cheaper 🤔

What would any of you smarter than me people pick here? I'm also more than open for suggestions, my budget is around 200€ max

r/Headsets - Arctis 7 or Corsair Virtuoso?
April 13, 2020 -

I am looking for a wireless headset under ~$150 USD for PC, and I have two main options:

SteelSeries Arctis 7 ($125 USD)

Corsair Virtuoso ($160 USD)

I am not sure if the virtuoso is worth the extra money for the features. I am looking for a wireless (not bluetooth) option with a good microphone, durable build quality, and most importantly, great sound quality.

Tell me what you would go for before I pull the trigger.

Been in the market and still am undecided between these two, I know both their Pros and their Cons and still cannot come to a conclusion. Honest thoughts about these two. Thanks!

P.S: As much as I would appreciate other product suggestion but these are what I narrowed down to and what I can get in my country right now.
