STEPHEN KING'S HOUSE (2026) All You MUST Know Before You Go (w/ Reviews)
Former home of writer Stephen King. The house was built in 1854 and is a rare example of the Italianate villa style architecture. The home is now maintained by the Stephen and Tabitha king foundation and does lots of unheralded good deeds for the community. Like most private homes, you can’t go in unless invited.

Stephen King's Former House in Bangor | Atlas Obscura
1 week ago - Horror author Stephen King was born in Maine and has used the state as the setting for many of his stories. Despite his fame and wealth, he still lives in his home state, in a rather distinctive mansion just outside of downtown Bangor. The houses in his neighborhood are all large and expensive-looking, but they’re close to the street, which is wide and easily accessible, with a public sidewalk winding throughout.

December 17, 2024 - I believe the King family supports their efforts. The tour was full of information about the author, some history of the city, and took us to local sites that were a part of his stories. They also educated us on the projects Tabitha and Stephen funded in Bangor. I believe the last stop was this house.

Stephen King's House, Bangor, Maine
King, who paints a vivid picture of his home state of Maine in much of his fiction, moved into this house in 1980. The 19th century Victorian mansion is on Bangor's nicest historic block, where sawmill barons lived in the city's lumbering heyday. In addition to it looking like a classic Gothic haunted house, King surrounded the property with a spiky iron fence with a spiderweb front gate topped by two iron bats.

Filmmaking may be a billion dollar business in Toronto, but it's not worth the trouble for least one homeowner who says movie crews are becoming a nuisance in his Riverdale neighbourhood — and he's calling on the city to stop issuing film permits for the property next to his.
