Welcome to Reddit, Mr. King. Your fiction has done more for me than I can express. At 13 I was crippled by a neuromuscular syndrome, left bedridden and in constant pain that would last for the rest of my life. I often wanted to die up there in my bunk. Often the only company I had came from books or audiobooks, and yours, including Nightmares & Dreadmscapes, The Regulators, and Needful Things, made up many of my favorites. There were many nights when I couldn't fall asleep for the pain, and on hundreds of those nights I only found the will to live to dawn because I wanted to know what happened next to your characters. I'm 31 now and that's in part thanks to you. So thank you. So, a question: what is the relationship between The Regulators and Desperation? Was it just throwing off the covers of Bachman by naming everyone the same? Or is there more thematic connective tissue? More on reddit.com

August 16, 2023 - I've never read anything that was strictly Owen, but if the book he wrote with Stephen (Sleeping Beauties) is any indication, then I would say no, he's not great. ... Joe is amazing. Owen tends to slip under the radar and is neither as good nor as prolific , in my (completely unqualified) opinion. In all honesty, I don’t think Owen would’ve ever been published without his father’s help, whereas Joe’s writing and talent truly prove he would’ve made it, with or without the King name.

I’m a little late but I just learned Joe Hill is Stephen King’s son. I love Stephen King and honestly I don’t deviate from his works much to explore other authors as the other author always pales in comparison. (I have read about 3/4 of King’s books so I have some material left before I’d have to deviate for something new). If I like Stephen King, will I like Joe Hill? Are his works anything like those of his father? I’d be excited to find another author.
