Found this wonderful Stickley table on FB marketplace. Just bought my first house and am now battling to furnish it with stuff that isn't total junk (while simultaneously trying to not spend all my money). Found this beautiful cherry Stickley Drawtop table - but it was in rough shape. The last owner said years of his kids abusing it and eventually being left on his covered porch for who knows how long did a lot of damage. It was in rough shape. A lot of scratches, dings and gouges. Lots of water damage. At any rate, it was probably around 30 hours of work. Prepping, cleaning, sanding and finishing. I used a shellac to finish it (1.5lb cut) applied with a pad then hit it with a 0000 steel wool and paste wax to give it a little water resistance. I'd probably skip the steel wool and use something a bit more gentle next time. Very happy with the results! More on reddit.com

Leopold Stickley was brother to Gustav Stickley and both had their own furniture companies. Both were originally associated with the Arts and Crafts movement, but this set is quite a while after that era. This set is almost certainly from the early 50's. Leopold Stickley had its line of "traditional" styled furniture called "Cherry Valley" This had colonial, Victorian, and as you have Queen Anne style chairs that could be mixed and matched with a series of tables. In a quick search on newspapers.com I found your table in a 1952 ad, but not your exact chairs but its pretty safe to say they are also from around this time period. Leopold Stickley was known for his interest and advancement in making quality furniture, and to this day a lot of their A&C stuff is pretty collectible. However, this mishmash traditional style is very much a product of the mid 20th century and to most young consumers (who are the primary purchasers of used furniture) this stuff usually goes by "brown grandma furniture". I can't give you any kind of value because this is really far out of my wheelhouse (am know a lot about all eras of modern furniture but very little about tradtional) I will say it is almost a certainty that is set was worth probably 5x more than it is now (not even adjusting for inflation) in the 1980's than today. The vast majority of antique and antique styled furniture has taken an absolute bloodbath in value since the resurgence of MCM furniture beginning in the mid 1990's. More on reddit.com
