Hi guys, I just built my very first storage system and I'm eager to start using it, but I ran into a problem trying to use categories on the stock link.
With chests, I usually have some labelled "stone", which contain all my stone blocks and their building variants like slabs and stairs. Then I also have one or two chests labelled "wood" which contain logs, planks, stairs, slabs, sticks, etc.
For my stock link, I'd really like to use similar categories. The only way to do so with filters that I know of is to manually specify each and every item in a regular filter, since I don't see anything on the attribute filter that could help with this.
Does anybody know if there's a quicker way to specify which items go in which category? If not, I'd love to know how you use categories, if you use them at all. Thanks!
What the title says, after having played around a bit with the new update, I'm wondering if you can link multiple stock links to one stock ticker, seeing as I can't fit all of my items in one item vault
So next year for my dorm I wanna make it as cool as possible so I wanted to make one of my summer projects a diy stock ticker. Most of the vids I have seen show people using an arduino or a raspberry pi but I was thinking of having something that would plug via usb into my Ubuntu laptop and gather the information from the laptop rather than a mini pc. Where can I start to make this thing? Thanks and regards, Thomas
Yes this is possible. What's your coding experience like? Do you know what type of ticker you want to make? Do you have a idea what type of ticker you want to make? I work with LED boards that contain a graphics card that makes the LED board function like a monitor so it's actually easier for me to use a more beefier computer to send data into the LED boards than using an arduino.
However if the hardware you choose to go with is more basic and it works off of sending individual inputs then going with the arduino or rasp route may be more easier as you can control individual values a lot more easier.
Do you have any examples of the DIY tickers you've seen online?
You could probably start with something like this but instead of sending news, find code that gets stock quotes and send what that generates.
This might help too, it displays stock quotes on a small LCD panel, but you could probably find some way to make it work with a marquee.
Hey all- I've been getting more into day trading and I'm looking for a small screen for my office that acts as a stock ticker. An off the shelf product or a DIY approach is fine with me. Here's an example of what I'm envisioning.
Does anyone here have anything similar that they bought or made themselves? $100 is my ideal price point if possible.
