We've been wanting to change our entryway set up for a while and I've recently seen this great idea on my reels, where creators make a bench and storage out of IKEA furnitures. However, I'm concerned about the weight limit of Besta (which seems to be the most popular solutions in these videos). Even the Besta TV unit can only take up to 25 kilos (I'm in NL if that matters), so even with an MDF topper and a 2x4 base to distribute the weight I'm not sure if it will be okay longer term.
Between the different ikea series (besta, platsa, metod, I don't know what else there's out there), what's the best option for this purpose? And are there any suggestions to improve long term stability of this piece?

I built this with Sektion cabinets. I talked to the Ikea worker and they advised me that it would be more durable than the besta line.

However IKEAs load specifications are very conservative. The example should not have a problem, even with two full-grown people sitting on it.

Hej!
As the title says, I'm looking into how to create a budget under window sofa / window seat (I don't really know what's the proper name for it.) in our apartment.
I have approx 130 cm space in length, seating height is 65 cm maximum.
Ideal depth of the furniture (basically how wide the seating space is) would be around 50-60 cm, but there's not many Ikea frames that has the depth to use.
Using two sets of Besta frames (40cm and 20cm) would be way too expensive, etc.
If you have any tips, suggestions, I'd be very thankful! Cheers!

I've seen similar bench solutions made at Ikeas own displays from the full depth Metod cabinets, 40 cm tall, 60cm wide, 60cm deep, with a thick countertop over the units to help distribute the load. They were put on a custom base as the little plastic legs wouldn't work in this scenarion
