Haven’t really posted here before, but I wanted to see where people are shopping for high end streetwear and designer these days. I also figured I’d throw this together since people are always looking for streetwear/designer spots in LA. I bounce between streetwear and more design heavy stuff, so these are the spots I keep coming back to. Whether you're a local or visiting from out of town, these are all worth a visit! I know there are a lot of obvious names like Kith and Dover that belong on this list, but I thought I’d focus on some spots that are either lowkey, boutique vibes, or just speak to me based on their vibe.
1. Luke’s (Melrose) Luke’s is one of those spots that flies under the radar but always has a solid, thoughtful selection. Great spot for pre-owned designer brands at good prices. The vibe is super chill and minimal, kinda like a boutique you’d find in Tokyo. If you’re tired of loud logos and want something more understated but still fresh, Luke’s is a great spot.
2. Maxfield (Melrose) Maxfield’s more of a destination than a regular shopping spot. It’s like walking into a museum filled with rare designer archive pieces, vintage luxury, and limited drops. You’ll find everything from Rick Owens and Raf Simons to E.R.D. and Visvim. The prices are definitely high, but even if you’re not buying, just browsing through can give you tons of inspiration and a chance to see some truly unique items up close.
3. H. Lorenzo (West Hollywood) One of LA’s most consistent places for avant garde and experimental designers. They’ve got heavy hitters like Kapital, Sacai, Kiko Kostadinov, and Namacheko, so you can expect a mix of wild silhouettes and textured fabrics. There’s also usually a good amount of pieces that are wearable without feeling too out there. The staff’s pretty helpful without being pushy, which makes the experience way better.
4. Pieces Los Angeles (Santa Monica) An underrated boutique with serious curation. If you’re into pieces that sit between streetwear and gallery core, you’ll probably mess with it. They keep a broad but thoughtful selection — ranging from Chrome and Gallery Dept to some emerging and local names like Paly Hollywood and Boredom Kills. They also recently started an in-house brand called Pieces that draws inspo from a lot of the brands they carry. The space is super clean and they have new arrivals every week. Staff is also very helpful with styling.
5. Acne Studios (DTLA or West Hollywood) I know this one’s a brand, but Acne has been a staple for a while and it’s easy to see why. I’m a big fan of their denim, especially the 1996 and loose fits, and their outerwear always hits that perfect balance of structured but relaxed. Both the DTLA and West Hollywood locations are worth visiting, but I prefer DTLA since it’s less hectic and usually has better stock. If you want pieces that add a clean, modern edge to your everyday fits, Acne’s a reliable go to.
What are some of your favorite local designer and streetwear stores? I'm always looking to check new spots out!
