What's the difference between a shop vac and a vacuum cleaner?
Shop vacs provide more cleaning power and are often sturdier than typical vacuum cleaners. That’s because they’re typically used for bigger, more serious messes. A shop vac is great for cleaning up emergency leaks in your home or large quantities of dirt and debris.
How do I use a shop vac for water?
Vacuuming water is a strength of shop vacs, and it can often be cleaned up with other solid debris. However, most shop vacs require you to remove the filter when suctioning large amounts of liquid. If the filter does become wet, remove it when your job is complete to let it dry properly.
What does CFM mean?
CFM stands for cubic feet per minute. It’s a measurement of airflow and one of the most important factors in how effectively a vacuum can clean — though it’s not the only factor. Our top pick, for example, measures at 144 CFM. That’s quite powerful. Our favorite cordless model doesn’t pack the same punch at 87 CPM.
I am considering buying a new wet-dry vac for detailing cars with, vacuuming outdoor rugs, the garage, etc. I am not familiar with shop vacs; only household vacs.
So, what are the premium highest-quality shop vacs brands?
Which ones have the most suction and airflow? 110” + is a requirement.
I’m looking into Nilfisk but I don’t know much about that brand. Also curious if Henry has a shop vac for wet-dry use, and can handle outdoor/ shop vacuuming.
I have been surfing the web for almost a week now and it's getting complicated. I have a workshop 28'x12' mostly I carryout woodworking activates here and I find it hard to clean up the space. the workshop is adjacent to my home and garage. I am looking for a powerful shop vacuum that can do most of the vacuuming and cleaning tasks in all spaces. Not asking for recommendations but I want to learn your experiences with your machines.
Look up, YouTube; Project Farm - shop vac
I have one of these and a dust deputy. It's really good for most cleanup and point collection (avoiding the mess to begin with is nice). I only have two complaints with this setup, first this vacuum will collapse a 5 gallon bucket if you momentarily block the hose, I work around this by reinforcing the bucket with a hoop of rebar. Second it doesn't have enough airflow to really work on a table saw, no shop vac is really up to that job though.
