Subclinical hypothyroidism in pregnancy - PMC
Subclinical hypothyroidism is defined by a normal free thyroxine in the presence of an elevated thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH).1 In pregnancy, its incidence is more common than overt hypothyroidism, ranging from 15% to 28% in iodine-sufficient regions.2 The upper limit of normal for TSH ...

Subclinical hypothyroidism and pregnancy outcomes
May 15, 2017 - Subclinical hypothyroidism is defined by an increased TSH but a normal T4. It is clear that overt hypothyroidism should be treated, especially when diagnosed during pregnancy in the mother.

Subclinical Hypothyroidism

I have Hashitmotos! I would make sure to get a full thyroid panel to see what your T3 and free T4 are also doing. It's better to have a TSH <2.5 when TTC from literature (I'm an NP). You can see my post history for where I was with my TSH (it was not in range). Or message me :) Also, babybumps is a good sub for this question. I know dealing with this is stressful during TTC.

Hypothyroidism and Pregnancy?
Hi! I've been diagnosed hypo for 8 years now and have been on levoxyl since then, maintaining normal levels. This is my first and I am 18 weeks and everything seems great so far! I do get my blood checked every 4-6 weeks, and they did up my dose as soon as they found out I was pregnant, so make sure you are talking to your endo about this and keeping track. I don't think there is much of a worry as long as you maintain a good level and keep watch. More on reddit.com

Hypothyroidism Diagnosed in Late 3rd Trimester

My doctor just did some follow up tests for my thyroid. They said my numbers were slightly elevated, but not enough for concern yet.

Has your doc been monitoring your numbers? Or was this the first time you were tested?

I asked mine about what the implications were, and she didn't seen too concerned. Said they'll keep monitoring for now, and if it gets to high, they'll put me on meds.

My TSH levels were at 2.7

I would ask your doctor about any concerns you have. At 37 weeks, I feel like if there was any real danger to baby, they would have gone ahead and delivered you.

Subclinical hypothyroid while TTC

I had sub clinical Hypothyroidism (at least i did when i started treatment) and then they found that i had PCOS to boot. but all the endo's i have seen haven't cared that its "with in " acceptable limits they have said that a young woman ttc should have her TSH around 1, and if its not then they are willing to work with you to get it there. also it should be noted that you shouldn't ttc till it's near one because the baby needs thyroid from you , and they will have to up your dose when you get pregnant. A regular dr will not treat you for Low or High TSH, that is still with in the range , you need to see a specialist.

February 1, 2019 - Any treatment for SCH in pregnancy is currently based on low-quality evidence. A low starting dose of thyroxine could be used (50 µg) and thyroid function tests reviewed after 4–6 weeks to ensure no harm from iatrogenic thyrotoxicosis. More data are needed to inform the management of women with SCH who are positive for thyroid antibodies · Subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) is defined as an elevated thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) concentration in combination with normal concentration of free thyroxine (T4).

Thyroid Disease in Pregnancy | ACOG
ABSTRACT: Both thyrotoxicosis and hypothyroidism are associated with adverse pregnancy outcomes. There also is concern about the effect of overt maternal thyroid disease on fetal development. In addition, medications that affect the maternal thyroid gland can cross the placenta and affect the fetal thyroid gland. This document reviews the thyroid-related pathophysiologic changes that occur during pregnancy and the effects of overt and subclinical maternal thyroid disease on maternal and fetal outcomes.
