I'm probably not the target audience here since I'm more on the data/growth side than creative marketing, but the one that stuck with me was Spotify Wrapped. Not because it's creative or flashy, but because it's such a good growth loop. They get millions of people to voluntarily post their music stats on social media every December. Free marketing from users who are basically showing off. The genius part is it's personalized so everyone thinks theirs is interesting. And it works because people genuinely want to share it, not because Spotify is paying for ads or begging for shares. From a metrics perspective it's beautiful - high engagement, organic reach, happens annually so people expect it, and probably drives a ton of app opens and subscriptions. I've tried to replicate something like this at my company (fintech) and it's way harder than it looks. We don't have fun data like music taste. "Here's how much you spent on transaction fees this year" is not shareable content lol. But yeah, Wrapped is the campaign I think about most when I'm trying to build growth features. Make the user the star, give them something they want to share, make it easy to share. Easier said than done. Answer from OkDependent6809 on reddit.com

What is the best marketing campaign of the century?
Off the top of my head, I think Red Bull and the "Red Bull Gives You Wings" campaign has to be up there. Technically, it may have started in the late 90's, but the campaign has been consistent, well-positioned, and very unique. From flugtag to BMX to helping a guy jump from space. Who else has done so many home runs, so consistently, across a single campaign for so long? More on reddit.com
What’s one marketing campaign you ran that surprised you?
I totally relate to this. I once threw together a meme-based campaign on a whim, leveraging some trending topics, and it blew up way more than a serious ad we had put weeks into. It was wild to see how authenticity and a little humor could connect with people so much better than all that polish and strategy we usually chase. More on reddit.com

Would love to hear your thoughts and why they worked so well!

Honestly Coca-Cola’s AI comeback in 2025 with their Christmas ad impressed me. I think we can all agree that the 2024 attempt was totally cringe (remember the uncanny human faces) and instead of doubling down, they flipped the concept: cute baby animals, playful storytelling still with AI at the center. Same tech, totally different emotional impact and it worked for me !

The marketing for the movie Long legs coming out this week is fantastic. Immersive and creative. They created a phone number you could call with a recording of the killer (Nicolas Cage) and also a video of how the main actresses heartbeat sped up when she first saw Cage in his full makeup. They're playing up the reveal very well. Plus I'm also getting bombarded with display and pre roll ads on top of that so I don't forget when it comes out.
