Disable 'Suggest strong password' on Safa… - Apple Community
It should be possible to disable the SSP ('Suggest strong Password') feature in Safari AutoFill. The reason is the SSP function is not well designed and doesn't work correctly with all web sites (Barclaycard, for example). Frequently, it attempts to insert a 'strong' password into a site function ... More on discussions.apple.com

Suggest strong password isn't showing
Open Chrome, press alt + F, go to Settings >> Autofill >> Password. Or go to passwords.google.com . If you're creating a new account, you should be able to see the "Suggest Strong Password" option when you click the password text box. However, in my experience, it doesn't work sometimes. If it happened, you could google "password generator", there are many options. I usually visit passwordsgenerator.net . More on reddit.com

Disable 'Suggest strong password' on Safa… - Apple Community
July 5, 2023 - I can't believe someone at Apple thought it be a good idea to force users to use their password suggestion tool if they also use the password manager, but, here we are. So if you want to turn off the strong password suggestion, you'll have to turn off the whole iCloud password manager altogether and manage your own passwords, there is no in-between (right now)

r/chrome on Reddit: Suggest strong password isn't showing
April 14, 2022 -

Hey. I switched from firefox to chrome a couple days ago. What I always loved about firefox is the built in pw manager. I love that it auto generated strong pws for me and automatically saved them. Apparently chrome has this feature too but yet I can't find it. I already used google to find answers but I couldn't find anything.

Yes SYNC is turned on. Yes I tried it on popular websites, it's not even working on google.com itself.

Yes I right clicked in the PW field, there is no "suggest password" field there. Only the usual like inspect, paste, spellcheck and so on. I simply don't have any pw suggestion field anywhere and it's driving me crazy. This is unironically a deal breaker for me and I will switch back to firefox if I can't solve this.

NO I don't want to use any third party app like last pass or whatever. I want it built in.

Further information: When I left click on a PW field it, instead of suggestion me a new strong pw it just shows me the name + pws of accounts that I ALREADY have created. Which makes no sense. I don't want the SAME password again. I want a new one.

I imported all of my pws from firefox to chrome. Is this what is causing this bug maybe?

In any case I hope you can help me. I really really want to use the built in PW manager.

r/cybersecurity on Reddit: Strong password suggestion
September 6, 2024 -

I am writing a document to send out to everyone in my organization with some tips on creating more secure passwords. A common problem is that with long passwords requirements, which we have, is that people tend use patterns or reuse large chucks of old passwords and simply replace a few characters, PassWordxxxx, changing the xxxx with each reset.

I have an idea to help people create complex, and seekingly random passwords and I want comments and suggestion on if it seems good.

Pick 2 unrelated airports from 2 random cities in the world and the final score of a sporting event.

In this example I’ll use Gatwick, London (LGW) and Juneau, Alaska (JNU) and game 7 of the ‘05 NBA Finals 74-81, the order is up to you. The password could then use those characters and various patterns. An example would be: lgwjnu7481JNULGW&$*!

&$*! is 7481+shift.

The airport codes could simply be replaced other things like the 2 letter codes from 2 random elements form the periodic table, the 2 letter codes for 2 different states, etc.

The numbers could be an area code for a random major city, a year that may have some significance, etc.

Another example would be wyaz1492AZWY!$(@

!$(@ is 1492+shift.

I know this seems like a lot but once you get it it’s actually a simple concept, and considering that it’s important to be secure it’s supposed to be somewhat complex.

Strong Password Generator | Opera forums
July 28, 2024 - I'm looking for a random password generator solution for Opera (on GX), but I just found an extension called "Random password generator", less known by the way, but to avoid installing new extensions on my Windows system, for safety, especially when the extension is little used/disclosed/known, as palliative using the random password generator embedded into Microsoft Edge, just enable the option in Edge settings (Profiles, Passwords, Suggest Strong Passwords) to allow generating a random password in any Password Creation field to generate a strong password, then I copy it and use in the Opera tab.
