Hello fellow London Redditors,
I start a new job on Monday and I need a new suit ('dark business attire', as the employer describes it). I only have tomorrow to get one sorted as I had to wait for some money to come through today and my budget is £300 - do any of you know which shops / area would be good a punt?

Congrats on the new jobs. M&S will set you right. If you're limited on wardrobe, a good piece of advice is to get a 2nd set of matching trousers - they're the bit that wear out first, especially if you're wearing the same suit every day. Get a pair of chinos for "dress down fridays" if that's a thing at your new workplace - it's a good day to drop your suit off at the dry cleaner to pick up the next day. Get your shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt (they last, and have killer customer service if anything goes wrong). I think TM Lewin are similarly competitive. They typically offer 3-4 shirts for £100-£120. Get your ties from your local charity shop. you only need 2-3 to get you through a week without being seen as "that guy who wears the same time every day", and they are cheap as chips second hand. Don't worry about pocket squares yet. Do worry about making sure your socks match. In future, when you're at the "treat yourself", suit supply off regent Street will dish out a great suit that you can get tailored in store for less than £350.
