r/overclocking on Reddit: SYNC ALL CORES OR AUTO?
February 22, 2019 -
Hi, I have a 6700k and I want to know what is the "SYNC ALL CORES" option? and blocking the TURBO BOOST all the time? Do you really earn something? THANK YOU

"Sync All Cores" adjusts the turbo boost table so that (in the case of your 6700K) instead of varying from 4200MHz with a single loaded core and 4000MHz with 2 or more loaded cores, it'll try to turbo them all to 4200MHz all the time regardless of how spread the load is.

Sync cores refers to a manual overclock which you will need to manually adjust the base multiplier. Basically, applying a multiplier of 42 (4200 Mhz) as an example, syncing all cores will apply your multiplier of 42 across all cores. Turbo boost will pretty much override your max frequency, so once you set a manual overclock of X multiplier, the turbo boost will then act up on the multiplier set. EDIT: Actually I believe your Turbo boost will not even work since you set a manual multiplier.

March 9, 2019 - I activated xmp and i was confronted with the selection of Core Ratio Synch all cores or auto. Does it matter if i not intend to oc that much. i guess auto is for stock or basic settings. if i select synch all cores does it oc for me if i don’t change anything it or is it also a basic setting wit...

r/overclocking on Reddit: 8700k sync all cores vs per core overclocking
April 5, 2019 -
I have an 8700k that hits 4.9 ghz at 1.31 volts. I can't get a higher overclock without hitting really high temps or failing (delidding kit doesn't arrive for another week).
I mainly use my pc for gaming and understand that most games use 3-4 cores. I was thinking about using per core and trying to get the first few cores at a higher clock rate.
I haven't heard of any downsides to per core overclocking, but I've never really heard anyone talk about it.
Are there any downsides to what I want to do? Any tips?

The downside is that you need to test each individual core for stability which can take a long time

Just clock it to 4.6-4.7 and be patient till your delidding kit shows up. No point in wasting time doing the individual core OC'ing if you're going to have to redo everything once you delid.

August 24, 2022 - Syncing is not recommended depending on the CPU because the maximum boost clock tends to only be applicable to the "best" cores. Some cores may not be able to boost that high. ... Sync all cores Asus ROG Strix z590z wifi | Overclock.net
I had a Asus motherboard before with a 9th gen intel. I remember there being a option to Sync all Cores, Auto. The other option I remembered turning off was Multi Core Enhancement. I see in this bios that MCE is Enabled, Disabled, or Auto(let bios optimize) which was on by default.

Per Core Overlocking Vs Sync All Cores - I7 4770K | Tom's Hardware Forum
December 2, 2021 - Normally my stress test fail very quickly if I attempt to use any form of 'SYNC ALL CORES" Even 4.3ghz, takes around 1.350ghz to be stable under Sync All Cores. But when I use Per Core Overclocking, and lets set them all to 4.5GHZ under PER CORE, I'm stable under 1.280 clocked at 4.5ghz all cores.

Should i sync all cores?
Per core allows you to set a different speed for each core, auto runs all 4 cores at 4.0GHz and boosts to 4.4GHz. If you overclock, you want to sync all cores so all 4 cores are running at the same speed or you can set them individually with per core.

Is there any performance gain from syncing all CPU cores? | VI-CONTROL
January 18, 2018 - It's basically factory approved overclocking. Case in point: my i7-6700K has a factory clock of 4 GHz, with turbo at 4.5 GHz. It is possible to make all cores work at 4.5 GHz, so this is how I have it set up. It works without issues, and I do get better performance in everything, really.

What is better? Per-Core or All Core overclocking? | Overclockers Forums
October 13, 2017 - There isn't really any noticeable harm in doing it that way where two cores are less. I would also get off the auto overclocking and do it manually at 5 ghz. See what voltage its setting, start from there and lower a bit. Auto overclocks tend to overvolt in favor of stability. ... Thank you EarthDog. I'll try to do that tonight. Good to know about voltage. ... Click to expand... depends on silicon lottery and your cooling capabilities. With proper cooling(LN2 or even Liquid Helium or Hydrogen) it is possible to push a chip(not necessarily your chip) to almost 8.429GHz.
