Paypal Credit/Synchrony Customer Service has no clue what I'm talking about. Is this NORMAL for PP Customer Service? First time.
Synchrony Bank and PayPal Phishing
Need address to send Paypal credit/Synchrony Bank a ...
Letter from Synchrony Bank/PayPal Credit Account Out of the Blue
This is just a bit of a vent-- but seriously, wtf?
I've used PayPal for a long time and have had no issues, really.
Never gad to contact Customer Service until today, and wow.
Used PayPal Credit twice now for the whole promotional offer interest free if paid in 6 months. I have no issue with paying off the balance in 6 months. The first time I used it, I paid it off very quickly.
Webt to make a payment on my current purchase and noticed an "Amount to Avoid Standard Interest and Deffered Interest - $30" there, which did not go away as the minimum payment did.
Checked my older statements and apparently had the same thing, though I was never charged interest as I paid in full in 6 months, so I figured no problem.
Called customer support anyway to see what that is trying yo tell me, and the customer service person could literally not explain it at all to me. I could tell they had zero clue what i was talking about, worded my question every way i possibly could.
Which is odd since that's one of the main things I'm seeing on my PP credit account.
Told me to ignore it, and I've made my minimum, etc, etc.
Had them put it in the notes that THEY told me the "$30.00 Amount to avoid standard Interest and deferred interest" can't be explained, they dont know why I'm seeing this nor what it means, and that I'm all good if paid in full before end date of promotion.
Which, according to my statements, should be correct.
But just... seriously, if you can't explain to me how that number is arrived at, why I am seeing it, etc... just WAT.
I literally asked verbatim "So you have no idea why it's saying Amount to Avoid Standard Interest and Deferred Interest - $30.00, you can't explain to me at all why it is telling me this?"
"No, sorry sir, but as long as you pay by X amount by Y date, etc, you are good,"
I hope to God I never have to deal with that type of customer service in situations where I could actually get majorly screwed over.
After experiencing the customer service, I'm way more creeped out about using PP Credit.
Has anyone else had similar experiences? Did I just get a terrible person, and they are usually fine?
P.S. Do any of you know why it's showing me the $30 thing? Because PayPal Credit Customer Service apparently has no clue. Lol
