Hi everyone!
The truth is that I see advantages such as version history in synology drive but I don't know when to use drive or when to use samba directly ...
What do you think?
Moving from SMB1 to SMB 2/3: Synology NAS, Windows and macOS
Connecting Linux to NAS via SMB instead of NFS
Known Bug - Synology NAS owners and Windows 10 regarding SMB Connectivity
what exactly is SMB service

I just had the same issue after updating from Windows 10 1803 to 20H2.
Removing and recreating credentials from Windows Credential Manager, as suggested on other forums, didn't help.
However, I suspected eventually SMB to be the issue and after a bit of searching in the File Services settings within DSM (Synology UI), I have found the SMB settings, which were set to SMB1 in my case.
This has worked for me:
- Stop SMB Services
- Maximum SMB protocol = SMB3
- Minimum SMB protocol = SMB2
- Start SMB Services
Hope that helps.
Hi,
Thanks for posting here.
Regarding of your issue, please kindly check the following articles which I found in in Synology Support Center were helpful.
Why can't I access a Synology NAS shared folder from Windows or Mac?
Why can't I access my Synology NAS after office relocation?
Why I cannot map drives via Windows Explorer
And I also found a similar case in Synology community as below for your reference.

Meanwhile, if all above information was not helpful to you, I would like to suggest that you could use feedback hub in Windows 10 to submit your suggestions to Microsoft.

Hope my answer will help you. Thanks!

i have a ds215j which is constantly waking up from hibernation on its own. i did the hibernation debugging in the dsm and then i waited 6 hours and then i generated the log and i sent it to synology
they said that the SMB service is waking up my nas drive every 30 minutes during those 6 hours. i mapped my nas to my laptop as a network drive and the SMB service is used whenever windows explorer accesses the network drive. however, in those 6 hours i wasn't using my laptop and i closed it so the SMB service should not run but it is and it's waking up my nas
the fault is on who? is it the fault of the dsm and there is a bug in it? or the fault is with me and there is something wrong with my router settings?
if i buy a new nas like for example the wd nas will i also get the same waking up issues due to the SMB service? or that issue is only in synology nas?
