I just joined T Mobile after 20 years w Verizon and the issue I am perplexed by is their phone insurance fee of $18/mo per line (I am paying $72/mo for insurance)... that is way higher than Verizon... YIKES! Any advice on alternatives? THX@!
I am paying $14 a month x 3 phones for coverage (approx $45/month total). They are all iPhone 15 pro max 1TB, so replacement cost is around $1500. I do have credit cards that cover mobile phones for up to $850 which is too much of a gap in my opinion. What other options are there? And I am not looking for your opinion of no insurance; or just save $45 a month into a separate bank account - I am looking for true coverage alternatives to both theft/loss and damage. Thanks.
I don’t get the brouhaha over losing the phone insurance.
My wife's phone is no longer charging, so we're getting a new one through the insurance plan we pay for. Yet, they want to charge us full price for a replacement. This doesn't seem right. What's the actual point of the insurance if I have to pay full price for the new phone?
So I, like many here, have been doing the autopay loophole that T-Mobile just closed up. It looks like they are now releasing their own credit card https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/t-mobile/ which allows you to keep autopay along with cash back rewards. What is interesting is it doesn't say anything about phone insurance, however it does say you get all the Visa Signature perks which does include phone insurance...

It seems like this would be a big point for T-Mobile to advertise on their new card but they don't do it. Does that mean that Visa Signature perk is not valid or they are just trying to hide it?
