Is there a claim limit?
Once my claim is approved, what are my service options?
How do I file a claim?
I broke my phone on accident at work last week Wednesday. I immediately went home, passed by my nearby T-Mobile store, and the dude told me to apply online through Assurant since my line has insurance coverage on it.
I went online and have a claim number and everything, it's been almost a week and it's still yet to be approved. Is this normal? I've seen other threads where it took 24 hours to process, I've seen some where it took a whole week. Is there anything else on my end that I need to do?
When I called the main number and they asked if I'm the primary account holder, which I'm not, the call ended. Does that mean I have to bring my parents into this and have them call Assurant? I'm just upset at the whole situation and would like a potential concrete answer.
I’ve been with T-Mobile for about 3 years now. Before that, I was with Verizon for 11 years. During those years, I paid $10.99 for insurance on each of my 6 lines. We filed 4 claims for broken phones and 1 for a lost one, so that’s a total of 5 claims over all that time. Every time, the process was super easy and quick. I know we spent a lot, but honestly, it’s better to have the insurance and not need it than to need it and not have it, especially since my kids always seem to get the latest Android or iPhone. Now with T-Mobile, it’s just my wife’s line, two iPad lines, and mine—so a total of 4.
The other day, while we were out shopping and grabbing a bite, I took my iPad with us since my granddaughter was with me. We got home last night, and I couldn’t find my iPad anywhere. I’ll keep searching and retracing my steps. If I don’t find it by tomorrow, I’ll need to file a claim. That said, does anyone know the process for filing with Assurant or T-Mobile? Is it the same as with Asurion? How fast do you usually get a replacement device? What’s the typical deductible? Thanks in advance!
