r/tmobile on Reddit: Netflix on us nightmare
October 10, 2024 -

Hi! Yesterday I decided to take advantage of the Netflix on us. I contacted T-force to get the process started. They had me verify my account and then download the T-life app. I did. I signed in, made the selection for which plan I wanted and everything was good. The customer service representative said it was activated.

Unfortunately whenever I went to Netflix to start my plan, I was never offered a cheaper rate. Netflix wants me to pay full price, $17.99 for the standard plan.

Tforce and I troubleshooted this for several hours and I had to call it a night. So here I am, day #2, to try and activate this.

Why is Netflix on us so damn complicated? I can't believe I wasted somewhere like 3 hours trying to activate this, and here I am, day number 2.

So what gives? Is it always this fuckin complicated? I'm going to give it another shot today, but if I can't get it I'm just going to write it off as an impossibility on T-Mobiles end.

Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions or hints or tricks or whatever, please share.

Thank you in advance!

Edit/update: after getting in touch with the right tforce rep, he told me I had to "recover" my account via the T-life app. I followed the instructions and I got it! What a process! But thanks everyone, especially the redditor that suggested the very same steps the last tforce rep suggested I try.

Just got TMobile Internet and can't connect to Streaming Services | T-Mobile Community
Internet is lightning fast but I can’t connect to Netflix or Amazon Prime on any of our TV’s. Can’t even log into Netflix.com on my computer. Tech support is useless. Is there a simple fix or do I need to go back to Spectrum wifi? ... I have great news - it turns out that our gateway is on our business account rather than a home account, so there was something on the router that blocked streaming services. They clicked a switch or did something at T-Mobile and everything works now, on our laptops and our three different TV’s.

Netflix no longer streaming | T-Mobile Community
This time all the thumbnails populated. I takes a long time to start a show, but once it starts it plays to the end. I got the same results on all the other TVs. It seems this problem is partially fixed, but bandwidth to Netflix seems to still be an issue. The preview for shows does not appear.

November 17, 2025 - Downloads for You only works over Wi-Fi. To turn on Downloads for You, click into the Smart Downloads settings (via the Downloads tab or App Settings) and then toggle on Downloads for You. Turning that feature on will then open up options for limiting how much data Netflix will automatically download for each user profile, anywhere from 0.5GB to 9.5GB. (Netflix notes that one hour of video at normal quality is about 0.25GB.)
