r/tmobile on Reddit: Netflix on us nightmare
October 9, 2024 -

Hi! Yesterday I decided to take advantage of the Netflix on us. I contacted T-force to get the process started. They had me verify my account and then download the T-life app. I did. I signed in, made the selection for which plan I wanted and everything was good. The customer service representative said it was activated.

Unfortunately whenever I went to Netflix to start my plan, I was never offered a cheaper rate. Netflix wants me to pay full price, $17.99 for the standard plan.

Tforce and I troubleshooted this for several hours and I had to call it a night. So here I am, day #2, to try and activate this.

Why is Netflix on us so damn complicated? I can't believe I wasted somewhere like 3 hours trying to activate this, and here I am, day number 2.

So what gives? Is it always this fuckin complicated? I'm going to give it another shot today, but if I can't get it I'm just going to write it off as an impossibility on T-Mobiles end.

Anyways, if anyone has any suggestions or hints or tricks or whatever, please share.

Thank you in advance!

Edit/update: after getting in touch with the right tforce rep, he told me I had to "recover" my account via the T-life app. I followed the instructions and I got it! What a process! But thanks everyone, especially the redditor that suggested the very same steps the last tforce rep suggested I try.

Why Can't I Access Netflix with T-Mobile Anymore?
If Netflix stops working under your T-Mobile plan, first verify your subscription status and data connection. Ensure your mobile data is active and not restricted by data saver settings.

I pay for Ultra Netflix BUT TMOBILE can NOT let me use it | T-Mobile Community
T-Mobile can’t add your daughter as an additional member either because of the Netflix restriction on third party accounts. There is nothing T-Mobile can do unless they negotiate a new agreement with Netflix. Netflix changed the rules.

Netflix on us issue | T-Mobile Community
We had originally paid for our service Netflix without any issues. NOW!?! Well, the service is less than stellar. Most of the time it won't even show the "menu". When it finally decides to work it buffers so long it will time out. So, try again (not an internet issue) now it will be pixelated.

I had signed up with netflix and t-mobile netflix on us. I continued to get billed from netflix and never saw a “credit” on my phone bill. I cancelled netflix and went through tmobile as instructed. Today the support team said to reactivate my netflix account and watch for my billing cycle for tmobile.

The error code tvq-st-106 keeping popping up, I’ve turned off the modem and router, my internet speeds are 220mbps, and all other streaming apps are working fine. I was on the phone with T-Mobile for two hours basically just going in circles. Is there anyone that can help me?

Just got my son a new Samsung S22 ... YouTube, Netflix, Instagram, etc. while on mobile network. It works fine when we are on Wifi. Also, data is working as we are able to search via google and also ran a speed test which shows up fine. Netflix no longer streaming | T-Mobile Community
Between chats I again pulled up Safari and went to Netflix and then launched Troll and it pops and runs no problem. That is HTTPS. I would think they would be doing the same with the Netflix app as it would not make much sense to do otherwise.

r/tmobileisp on Reddit: Netflix and Prime not working on TmobileISP
April 21, 2024 -

On my LG smart tv all apps work fine except prime and Netflix. Netflix gave a message to contact internet provider. Both say “no internet connection but tv shows connected via Ethernet. Yesterday I hooked up WiFi to tv and it worked. Today won’t work Ethernet or WiFi. This has happened a few times now. Tomorrow it may work just fine. Both work fine on our phones through same WiFi. I did not have this problem with old internet provider. Any suggestions?

Reboot TMHI. Had the same issue and it cleared it up. Took 3 reboots, haven’t had the problem since.

2 possibilities I've heard of. First, sometimes TMobile will issue an IP address which has been blacklisted from Netflix, possibly other services. You'll know if this is the case if other services work but Netflix doesn't. Basically, if you can confirm your TV is getting an Internet connection and it's working, this could be an issue. And it's not TMobile's fault about the IP address blacklisting. It's Netflix's decision to blacklist it and usually because bad things were coming from the address in the past or it was used for VPN bypassing their geolocation restrictions. Restarting the gateway usually gets you a new address. The other possibility is the gateway simply isn't working properly but this would be more of a case of no services work rather than just 1 or 2 services. This could be a number of things and some depends on the gateway model. For instance, the gray Nokia is known to overheat and stops working when it does. Some gateways seem to have issues with the stability of their Ethernet ports. Most aren't very powerful with regards to how many devices are connected. Some can only handle a dozen or so devices connected. Once you reach the limit, connections can fail or the gateway can crash or stop working properly altogether. Using your own router attached to the gateway can help take that load off the gateway, but you'd want to make sure the router can handle the number of devices you're connecting.

Per https://help.netflix.com/en/node/24926: “The Basic plan is no longer available for new or rejoining members. If you are currently on the Basic plan, you can remain on this plan until your plan is changed or you cancel your account.” - So Netflix is apparently not kicking anyone off Basic who already has it.
