I was with AT&T. I recently went to the Dominican Republic. I have iPhone. Unfortunately, my phone broke while I was there and I was unable to use it to contact anybody.
When I left the DR I went to Puerto Rico to visit family. My grandfather took me to T-Mobile as they don’t have AT&T in Puerto Rico. They gave me an iPhone 16. It wasn’t what I wanted to do, but since I don’t have a working phone and I won’t be home for the next few weeks, I decided to sign up.
Also, they’re charging me $90 for unlimited talk, text, and data with a bunch of extra features that I could care less about. I just need a cheaper plan. I was paying $35 a month for a single line at AT&T with unlimited talk, text, and data. Does T-Mobile have any plans in that price range for single line?

You are correct that a carrier provided free phone is never truly free, but that is the same for all carriers. While there is no service contract for most carriers they essentially lock you into a service for the two years it takes to pay off the device. It can take a couple of months for bill credits equal to the monthly phone payment to show up on the account, but I am confused by the odd amount showing up on your bill. Any phone payment for a new iPhone 16 that would be offset by bill credits is definitely going to be way higher than $8.96 Unfortunately if you change your plan you will likely lose those bill credits so any plan savings you get will be offset by the phone payments and you will be paying just as much if not more than your current cost. If you are still within the return window your best option may be returning the phone and canceling service, then return to your old plan at ATT or explore other options like an MVMO carrier. Expect at the least a restocking fee if you are still in the time window where you can return the phone. The only other viable option is paying off the phone then canceling service if you can not get a plan that meets your needs, If you go with that you will end up being responsible for the full retail cost of the phone which is not going to be cheap for a flagship phone.

My mom has had her T-Mobile One Plan since it launched in 2016. I ported from Verizon from paying $80 to $25 on a T-Mobile multi family account. Thinking of getting the $15 upgrade to have full HD. Despite the data breaches the truth is all companies are prone to selling personal data. In this day age regardless of carrier anyone is prone to identity theft.
T-Mobile is a honest company and the wireless network has grown consistently and really has been using profits to improve, invest and maintain assets. No complaints.
What plan do you use? If you changed plans did you regret it?

If it’s a single line you might as well do Go5G Plus because it includes Netflix and Apple TV. It would also give you significantly increased trade in value if you’re planning on upgrading every 2-3 years anyways

T-Mobile Go5g plan would probably be your best option unless you went with prepaid instead, it comes with 100gb of priority data. Essentials is slightly cheaper but doesn’t include taxes or fees in the price, and is always at a lower priority than other plans with even less priority after 50gb. Which plan you believe is the best bang for the buck in 2024. I was with Mint Mobile for 2 years but I left 2 weeks ago to come back to T-Mobile. I'm on the $70 Magenta plan which I had 2 years ago when I left, at the store they told me new customers can't choose that plan only Go5G but that's not true. Which plan do you have and which plan you think is the best?

Bang for the buck is subjective, so as an ME @ a Corp store here’s my opinion (again everyone has different needs tho): Over 55? Go5G Plus 55+ 1-2 line if financing phones Essentials 55+ 1-2 line if mom or grandpa doesn’t need streaming services and/or better phone promos Military/1st Responder Next/Go5G Plus (there’s a good chance Insider on non-military/1st responder plan will be cheaper tho) New Person/Family Next/Go5G Plus with Insider code. If you’re coming in as a new customer, Insider is a must imho (if you can get one). 20% off for life is unreal and a huge cost savings esp if you also utilize streaming services and device promos). I’ve had an Insider on my T-Mo ONE plan since 2016/2017 and it’s still on there now as an employee. Love it. 4/$100 Essentials ($120 after tax) if not utilizing Next/Plus benefits and have good/newer phones Existing Customer Go5G Plus but depends on your usage and device trade in habits. If you travel internationally, fly, use streaming services, trade in devices, etc then this is the plan for you but you’ll pay a premium. 4/$100 Essentials comes to around $120 after tax/regulatory fees/etc. If you don’t care about what’s listed in the above paragraph and have good or newer devices, go on this plan if it’s available at the time. Edit- to answer what plan I’m on specifically as asked in your post OP, I started as a customer on the 2/$100 ONE plan from 2017 but also got an Insider code so I’m 2/$80 ONE. I’ve added lines since and have my employee discount so now I’m around $130/month with 6 voice lines, 1 iPad line, and 5 financed flagship phones (with promos). If I ever leave T-Mobile as my employer, I’ll have my mom do a change of responsibility and we’ll go on Go5G 55+ Next or Plus 2 lines & I’ll just give her money every month idc.

Hi, I currently have 4 phone lines, 1 tablet line, and 1 home internet line on the T-Mobile ONE plan. I see that switching to the “Experience Beyond” plan would cost me about $100 more per month. Besides the price difference, what extra benefits would I actually get compared to ONE? Could you provide me with a clear side-by-side comparison? Also, I noticed the $1,100 promo for trade-in is very attractive, especially since I have a cracked iPhone 12 Pro Max — does this apply to me if I upgrade?

How can you be attracted to an $1,100 promo when your bill will end up $1,200 (+ tax) higher per year? The math is woefully in T-Mobile's favor. If you need a new phone, you'd be better off financing one through Apple. They give you a 3% discount and 24 months interest free if you pay via Apple Card. Don't let T-Mobile trick you into giving up your grandfathered plan.
