No ID needed. Can pay US cash. Canadian cards don't always work across the border so be prepared. They'll need a US ZIP code, typically they'll silently just put in the store's, unless you have a special place you want to pay taxes to/get a phone number from. The plans are for 30 days. The most popular is US$50 for unlimited US talk, text, & data. You can add-on free calling to Canada if desired. It's all on the website. You'll prepay for the service plus US$10 activation/SIM card, & any taxes. There are no refunds so be sure your phone is unlocked. If there's any doubt they can pop in a test SIM to check. It'll stop working after 30 days and expire 60-90 days later. No need to cancel - not paying will do that, that is how it is intended to work. Pro tip: Ask them to tape your Canadian SIM into the card they got your T-Mobile SIM from (tape on the non-gold side.) I'm traveling to the USA in autumn and would like to use my phone with mobile data there. Mobile carriers in my country have pretty expensive roaming data plans so I decided I'd rather buy a prepaid sim card in the US, but I'm not sure how does it work there. In Poland I can just go to a carrier store and buy a sim card without any contracts, charge the prepaid account and use it. Does it work like that in the US? Can I buy a sim card, use it for a month and just throw it away when I come back home or are there any mandatory formalities/contracts/longterm deals?
