not sure if this is the right subreddit for that
so i am generally looking to get a new desk. one that allows me to install a vesa arm on it - either through a hole or with a clamp.
does ikea currently sell any desk tops that are solid enough to do that? i currently have an ikea desk, micke, but thats definitely not solid. also due to how its build i cant install a vesa arm on it anyway.

If you look through products on Ikea's website, it lists what materials their desktops and countertops are made out of. Avoid the ones that have a honeycomb paper filling. Particleboard is okay. I have a Gerton, which is solid wood, but I'm not sure if they sell that anymore. You could get a butcherblock made to the dimensions you want through like a carpentry shop.

Hello! There is a sale right now for Flexispot and I was thinking of buying either the E7 or E7 pro. Now I already have this table top from IKEA (LAGKAPTEN 63”x31 1/2”) and I was wondering if that’s a good enough table top to use? I’m not the best with handy stuff but it’s thick and seems to be wood and I don’t think it’s hollow? Idk it was heavy for me lol but this would be the pricing before tax for the E7 pro and this is Canadian dollars:

I am also looking for honest opinions for this next part. I am a nursing student and I also like to game when I have the time. I study a lot and also like to spend time gaming/relaxing that’s why I wanted to get a standing desk since I don’t want to be sitting all day. Finance wise I’m pretty okay with spending the extra money if there was really a big difference and whichever would last the longest since I plan on having this desk for a long time. Lagtapen is very cheap. It sounds hollow, and inside it's made of honeycomb cardboard. I preferred to use the MITTZON, which is much more solid/heavier/professional. In 120 * 68 cm the price difference was around 10€. I have a Fezibo desk, I was able to screw it under the wood (the Ikea holes won't match but that's not important).

The desktop needs to be more than 0.7 inches thick because the screws that come with our frame are about that length. Other than that, you can use our desktop or any other one you buy elsewhere. All you need is a power drill to drive the screws in and attach the frame to the desktop.
