Which coffee table?
Just wanted to share my living room table
Hacked an IKEA table to surround my living room couch with shelving
How should I furnish this living room? Going with IKEA.

I'm torn between 2 diff IKEA coffee tables, one wood top and one glass top, to go in my living room (next to Poang chair among other items). Any opinions?
I thrifted this table for five dollars about three years ago. It already had a small light in the inside for display but I added two 12" barrina strips and there are two USB fans that provide air movement. I applied two coats of black flex seal to the inside to protect the wood. Everything is controlled by a mechanical timer.
Everyone that visits loves it, and it helps light up our otherwise dark living room during the day! It also protects the salad buffet from our cats.
All in, lights, cabinet, fans, flex seal, paint brush, the project cost about $80.
Right now she's home to a manjula pothos, two marble pothos, scindapsus exotica/jade frankenpot, hoya carnosa "Krimson princess", Philo tortum, Philo pink princess, and a small bushy Philo I was told was a Mccolley's finale, but I'm skeptical about.
I’ve had a 55” LACK IKEA console table for almost a decade now, the last 3 years of which it’s been serving as a side table to my living room couch of the same height after being updated with a coat of fresh white paint (seen in picture 1)
I realized eventually that I also wanted storage behind the couch, so I started looking into my options online with little luck. The length was exactly 110” which wasn’t impossible to find, but I couldn’t find anything that I didn’t think would be too deep for the limited area behind the barstools.
It eventually dawned on me that with that length, I could just buy two more of the same LACKs and put them side-by-side. I bought one to see if the depth would be too much (picture 2), and found myself wishing I could just saw it down the middle to get one twice as long and half as deep…
So I borrowed a table saw and did just that.
I bought some brackets from Lowe’s & some mounting brackets from Amazon to slot the table tight against the couch. Total cost including the table itself was about $120. Super pleased with how it turned out.
I didn’t bother to close up the “guts” on the side against the couch with laminate veneer since they aren’t really visible from most angles, but that would certainly help the level of polish.
I eventually went back and swapped out the old white table with a matching one and the same natural finish.
Would love any thoughts on decor for it
