I've been doing some research into standing desks and I'm looking for recommendations that would work for someone who is 6ft tall and lives in Canada. I've identified a few options from different brands.
IKEA: IDÅSEN seems like the only option with a height range (24.75" to 50") that is good enough for tall people, but has a fairly low weight limit of 154 lbs. $779 CAD.
Flexispot: I'm eyeing the E5, which has a decent height range (24.4" to 50"), and a better lift capacity of 287 lbs. There's currently a sale going on that will end in a few days, but the regular price is $699.99 CAD.
Branch Furniture: Their basic standing desk seems like the option to go for, but the table top size (60" x 30") feels too large for my space. The height range is great (25" to 52") but it is also the most expensive I've found ($995 CAD although there is a sale that drops the price by $100).
Motion Grey: The Motion Series standing desk seems like the best option they offer in my opinion. The height range is the worst (23.6" to 49") but the lift capacity of 230 lbs is reasonable. It is priced at $739.99 CAD with a labor day sale price.
EffyDesk: The Business Desk is more pricy than I'd like but it also has decent height range (24" to 50") and a good lift capacity of 310 lbs. It's $975 CAD although there are coupons you can use to reduce the price.
Other Options I've Considered:
VIVO: I've seen them on Amazon but haven't looked into their full product line up.
PrimeCables: They have standing desks but their website doesn't really inspire confidence.
DeskHaus: Seems a bit more pricy than I'm willing to pay.
Questions
Are there any things I should be wary of when purchasing from any of these brands?
Are there any factors I haven't considered when purchasing a standing desk that I should note?
Have you had any bad experiences with any of these brands?
Do you have alternative recommendations that would satisfy my constraints (for a tall person, ships to Canada, nothing more than $1000 CAD but ideally less than $800 CAD)?
Appreciate any information you can share!
