What are some +8ft tall privacy trees or plants that I can grow in pots/containers?
Lemonade berry if you are coastal or sugar bush if you are inland. Both are California native hedges. They provide habitat for birds and insects and are adapted to our climate! Low water and provide an excellent privacy screen. I highly encourage you to garden with native plants. More on reddit.com

Good plant for privacy from neighbors?
With zero regard to my soil/geographical conditions I planted a passion fruit vine and the damn thing is indestructible. It’ll take over the whole house if I don’t trim it way back every few weeks. Most privacy we’ve ever had! More on reddit.com

r/gardening on Reddit: Which "privacy" plants grown in pots for concrete patio
August 12, 2016 -

I am moving this week into a 2 story condo. There's a patio about 12-18 feet wide and about 10-12 feet deep (not really sure on the specs). There's a glass sliding door and also a large glass window right above it that can be seen from the upper level (loft). The fence is only about 5-6 feet high, and there's a sidewalk right on the other side that goes around the pool or to people's condos etc.

I was wondering what is a good plant/s that will fill up the back fence and also add some privacy. I was looking at bamboo but idk how well that would do in pots. The whole area is concrete so pots are only option.
