I would suggest learning at Perris. It costs a little more but they set you up for success with the tunnel. Then once licensed, you also can make use of the LO program for free coaching as you learn more jumping belly in a group to learn more skills. Once you build that belly foundation, then go to elsinore. Both elsinore and Perris are good and just a few minutes apart. As a new jumper, I just feel like Perris offers more. Once you get that solid belly foundation and want to do more FF or angle jumps then elsinore tends to have a bit of an edge. There is no DZ in long beach. The only real beach views for a DZ are at oceanside which does not teach students due to the small landing area. Santa Barbara is also close to the beach but not an option. Elsinore has lake beach views but as a student, the views are not your top priority. More on reddit.com

If you want tandem then GoJump Oceanside is the better view. Santa Barbara would be similar as its also right on the coast. If you really want to learn to jump so that you can jump solo or with others then your options are really Skydive Elsinore or Skydive Perris. Elsinore and Perris have ok views if its clear for tandems. If it's hazy then long distance views get hazy and its basically just looking at the desert and nearby mountains. More on reddit.com

December 25, 2021Want to skydive. Tandem first, or jump (no pun intended) straight to SL?
I would do a tandem to see if it is something you are actually interested. You might honestly not like it. Plus you can learn a ton about canopy flight with the instructor right there to show and not just tell you.
As for AFF or SL. I have ratings and have taught both. Both have advantages, both have disadvantages. Either will take you to freefall and a license in most countries.
If I ran the world, I would have a program that was:
Tandem.
First jump course.
Two static line jumps.
15 mins of tunnel.
Single JM starting at about level 4.
Coaching jumps till ‘A’
As for the ‘door monster’ you will get it no matter what. One day it will go away.
