if you're open to OLED... LG B4 will go on sale for around $500ish. This works reasonably well in well lit rooms as well. Otherwise you're looking at units from TCL and Hisense for value and MAYBE a Samsung QN85/90/95 https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/by-size/48-50-inch More on reddit.com

I got a vizio m series 7 50” for $330 at Costco on cyber Monday. I think it was an excellent purchase and good value for the price. The best for your size would obviously be something like an LG OLED but if you’re looking for cheap I’d recommend the vizio. Cheaper LGs are decent but always have offwhite issues and not enough brightness IMO.
