r/Target on Reddit: I applied to target almost 2 weeks ago and no response to the application, should I be worried?

So I applied to Target on the 28th of April so a little over a week ago. And usually with Target they would tell me in a day or two that sorry we decided to move onto other applicants and stuff like that but surprisingly, they haven’t denied it or accepted it. Literally the last email they sent was a thank you for applying to Target.

I know it’s a bad place to work but I came from Walmart so target should be that bad right? And also I need the hours so that’s why I applied. Should I call to see if they can accept me or what?

Earlier today I applied for a overnight position, I received a call a few hours later saying I will need to do a recorded interview. I handled that as soon as it went to my email. Now I’m just wondering how long before I may receive an update on the job status seems like they need people urgently. I asked that Bc I’ve been applying for lots of diff jobs and would rather work at target but don’t want to wait so long , so just curious. Thanks in advance 💯💯

r/Target on Reddit: Application stuck at “In Progress”
June 1, 2024 -

I’ve applied to multiple Target locations in my area since end of January and the first week of February. The store I applied to in January rejected my application twice for 2 different positions. Meanwhile at another location I was able to get an interview and it was received before the middle of February. All my other applications including this one has been stick in “In Progress”. I even called the store’s HR department to see what the status of the application is and they said I just have to wait on a call which I still haven’t received. I guess my question is how much longer do I have to wait on a response or at least if I should just give up?

Good day to you all. Hope all is well. I applied to my local Target on October 10th (which was 24 days ago). Exactly 10 days later, I got an email asking to do the HireVue video interview which I completed that very same day. I waited the 5 business days to call HR just to check in on the status of my application, she was very kind and reassured me she’d get to my application and said she’d reach out to me last Wednesday / Thursday. It’s been a little over a week and I haven’t heard back. I check my email, I log-in to Workday and my application is very well still “In Progress.” I don’t want to rush her as she seemed like a kind person over the phone and I know there’d be a hefty amount of applicants who also want the job, I just want to know if this hiring process for Target is something you’ve gone through or is typical for everyone. Should I keep waiting? Should I maybe give HR another call? Or should I be patient while also applying elsewhere? Thank you in advance and keep sending me good thoughts.

Update: I tried calling and I have received no response, no one’s picking up. Help?

2nd update: GOT A JOB OFFER AT ANOTHER TARGET.

I applied to target about a week ago for guest advocate and fulfillment/general merchandise and haven’t heard any updates on my application. I visited the store yesterday to check the status and to show some initiative. I was only told by a team member that they would pass my info and availability to HR to try to speed things up but I still haven’t heard anything. I’ve tried to call the store to check the status of my application but my calls get instantly decline so I assume the phones are down. The status of the application online just says “in progress”. Should I give up? Any tips?

r/Target on Reddit: Post-Interview Application Status Question
November 10, 2022 -

Hello everyone! I tried to find posts that match my exact situation, but couldn't come up with anything, so I figured I would shoot it over to you guys.

I am a teacher and applied to my local Target for seasonal work. I filled out two applications one for "Seasonal guest Advocate, General Merchandise, Fulfillment, Front Store Attendant, Style, Inbound" and one for "Specialty Sales." The day after I submit the application, I get invited to do the HireVue interview. I completed the interview and a couple days later, HR calls me and asks about my availability. I tell them that I pretty much have open availability except for one weekend in June, in which I have to go to a wedding. A couple days later, HR calls again and asks for a time to schedule an interview with the store director (which never happened when I worked for other retail places).

I have the interview with the store director. The interview was primarily more availability stuff and asked about my experience (teaching, retail during college). It seems to go really well. She asks what departments I would prefer, as on my application, I mentioned electronics, which is where I have the most experience. I tell her that I am pretty flexible and am willing to work wherever. She then tells me that I should either receive a job offer phone call by the end of the long or a rejection email.

That was on Saturday. At 1AM this morning, I receive a rejection email. I was really bummed, as I thought it went well. I look at the application website and see that the Seasonal application says "No Longer Considered." But (this is where I am confused), the "Speciality Sales" still says "In Progress." Can someone give me some insight on what this means? Should I hold out hope or be resigned to applying elsewhere?

Thanks in advance

So, I applied for target on february 4th, I ended up getting my video interview, did that. On the 12th they wanted me to come in for an actual interview, I did and I think it went well? It’s for the imbound position starting around 4am-5am, I’m fine with the hours and everything, I told them i’m free whenever and can work whenever they need someone. When the interview ended, the guy told me that I should get a response soon just that HR wasn’t in the building that day, most likely because of the snow(just what i was thinking, not sure if it’s true). I have been looking on the candidate homepage to see if my application is still “in progress” and it is. I ended up emailing the HR person who emailed me about the interview, and now i’m just waiting. Any advice, or should i just assume i didn’t get the job?

June 25, 2022 - Call and ask HR the status, it does help show interest. Worst they can do is say "we are going to get to it" ... My store typically has applications completed within a week but we only get maybe a dozen.

Hello! I’ve applied to Target a week ago, and I have not heard back since. I applied to being on-demand, seasonal, and regular guest advocate, and I have heard nothing back from them.

On candidate home, it says my applications are “in progress”.

I didn’t put a resume on my application, but I did put my work experience. Could that be what’s effecting this, or pushing me down the list? I’m not sure how the hiring process works.

I don’t know if my location just takes a while to hire, either. I think a bunch of new employees just joined the team recently.

r/Target on Reddit: No Response after Virtual Interview
December 18, 2022 -

Two weeks ago I submitted my job app through workday to Target for specialty sales. Four days later I received a link for a virtual interview in which I completed in about 5 hours of receiving the invite. Fast toward to now, its been 7 business days and about a week and a half and I have still not heard anything back regarding my status. My application still says “In Progress” in Workday and my interview says “Interview Received” in Hire View.

At this point I am unsure of what to do. I know Target says to contact HR at location you applied to or Recruiter that invited you to interview if it’s been a week, but I’m unsure of what this means. My local Target doesn’t have an HR department and my interview invite was an automated message. Any suggestions on how I should proceed and if I am still being considered for the job?
