I am a member and used to always type my phone number in when I checked out. Every once in awhile I’d have some money to redeem by using this method. A couple months ago I saw someone on tik tok saying you are actually supposed to scan your checkout code on the app instead of typing in the phone number, but since I’ve been doing that I haven’t had any money to redeem. What method is better? And HOW can I apply deals to objects I am purchasing? I seriously don’t get it and I go to target at least once a week, I would love to save some money here.
Circle app usage is going down and a lot of feedback stems from the choice to remove the 1% cashback, which was a good bonus for using the app. We are encouraged to ask if the guest is saving using the app, but a majority of the time they end up getting no bonuses cause they didn’t use the app to shop for personalized discounts. It kinda makes me feel like a liar, especially when the guest ask “so what did I save.” And I have to say “looks like nothing this trip.”
One thing that kinda saves face is I tell them they “saved” by having a digital receipt connected to their circle, so if they have to return, they are double insured.
I wish we could bring back the 1% savings. Other chains have a rewards system that can be used to make purchases, but they have a limit. Like, couldn’t Target just implement a $100 reward limit, so that if the guests use their 1% cashback to a maximum of 100, it stops accumulating more points? It would encourage people to come in and spend those points and use circle more. Just seems like a real missed opportunity and deal.
